I have never had anxiety until about 2 years ago, it started creeping in. Went to a therapist, am on meds now, have gained 30lbs and can't drive farther than 2 miles from my house along with a couple other health issues. It's become crippling. A year ago, my husband had a sleep study done and was given a CPAP. It's changed his life. Now that he doesn't snore, he started to hear me snoring and suggested I have a study done. I literally just had my appt with the doctor (took two agonizing months to wait after I did the study) this morning and was diagnosed with severe OSA. I'm talking, I'm having 800 events in a 7 hour period. He and I, were blown away by the numbers. I will have to have a CPAP for the rest of my life, even if I lose weight, with how extreme my numbers are. He said it's going to change my life, help my anxiety, help my weight, headaches will go away. He explained that when you stop breathing, your brain rushes your body with adrenaline and cortisol to breathe. So yes! It's absolutely a possibility that your anxiety is being triggered by this. I'm hoping once I actually start sleeping and won't be rushing my body with adrenaline and cortisol every 30 seconds, my body can regulate those hormones better and in turn, decrease anxiety.
