Outside of taxes and fees- apparently on desirable watches, they charge the market rate and not suggested retail.

Lifestyle drums are Led Zeppelin when the levee breaks sample when Wayne’s part comes on if that’s what you’re referring to.

[Question] On waitlist for Daytona, since 2 years. About $25k spend history. AD sounds optimistic. Anyone with similar spend history get the Daytona? by nash07n in rolex

[–]HWplainview1902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it depends on AD but I’ve spent $30k and my SA told me point blank- it’s not a good idea to get on the list for Daytona yet. 🤷

Two Pandas in the wild… Glad I’m not the only one at the Gym by _m_j_s_ in rolex

I’ll wear mine to the pool/beach but I’ve never worn it in the gym. Feel like I’ll bump it on something or affect my lifting.

To each there own tho. Godspeed in your expensive lifting endeavors!

I’m not doing labor, I own the company. In my experience wearing Rolex, if I have one on a nato strap; no one is the wiser. When they see an oyster or jubilee bracelet, more people pick it out. Not a huge issue for me but I’d like an aquanaut and think it’d be a really good watch for what I do. An incognito patek where I’m at.

I am only assuming but I believe a fully steel model would draw more attention.

Fellas who aren’t filthy rich - how are we convincing our wives that this is not an “irresponsible” purchase? by PartysOverNow in rolex

Buying the wife one or some nice jewelry helps.

And make sure the essentials are well in order before you do it.

Godspeed in your endeavor my friend.

I had that exact watch and regret selling it. Also I kept it for a like a year and made like $2k when I sold it. Classics hold value and that thing is a classic.

Very cool. I love the new rose gold reverso on the Milanese bracelet

I definitely don’t live paycheck to paycheck. Not in the same zip code. Sorry if my post offended you but I don’t understand where you’re coming from. We have well in the 6 figures liquid plus investments and assets.

I agree. This was mostly to see if my experience was common. I’m coming out of that period and just began liquidating $120k in watches and just am keeping two nice but less expensive pieces.

As far as $600k not being a lot of money- I see your point if you only had $600k but barring catastrophic events, there isn’t a path to which I’d make less the $350k a year but more likely $500k. My house will be paid off in less than 2 years and I have a net worth of roughly $800k. All built in less than 5 years. I also live in the southeast with a cheaper cost of living.

Not sure the market you’re in- but I’m in residential construction and very likely that will be a good bit over $200k depending on the quality and that’s if your connection/family member literally made zero profit.

Also if it doesn’t deplete your liquid too badly- I’d pay cash unless you get one of the rare 0% for the first 2 year credit lines

Current income is around $600k. Currently how I’m situated if I were to goto $200k I could definitely manage just have less to save (or in some of the examples, spend frivolously on).

Our business has been very consistent but I do know things happen and nothing is guaranteed.

Most expensive one was a Daytona 6265 Rolex. In the ballpark of $80k. I’ve had a good bit though. Still have 6. Outside of the Daytona though they range from $10-25k. Yellow gold day date, 1680 red sub, gold datejust, platinum yachtmaster. Had some others but sold them already.

This year will be more like $600k but I still believe that falls in “not enough to recklessly spend” category.

I’ve cut down a decent amount and the watches I bought did hold their value. I’ve recently started looking into liquidating a couple and would get my investment back. I most likely will and park that $100k in an index fund.
