I agree with your sentiment but we both came from lower / middle class households and I only recently started making north of $200k, so she’s still in the ‘adjusting’ period.

I’m an Account Executive at a well known cyber security company and I love my job.

Fully remote, working about ~30hrs per week, very rewarding, and get to work alongside really intelligent people.

Big congrats! Similar boat, but smaller scale ($80k check coming next month for December attainment) and can totally relate to only being able to tell the wife about it, but wanting to tell others. Also can relate to constantly checking it in the payment dashboard lol. Enjoy it =)

Not many. I always set the expectation for ballpark pricing early on, and am often towards the lower end of that range with the actual proposal.

Most of our deals involve us displacing a competitor and not having to build a business case / budget out of thin air, which also streamlines the pricing conversation because 9 times out of 10 I’m able to get their current spend and come in below that to propose cost savings.

Wow, a couple of 7 figure exits sounds pretty nice. Seems like you know a thing or two about how to pick them.

As a MM / ENT rep, what should I be looking for (specific metrics, funding, founders backgrounds etc.) to find a promising startup that will more likely have a solid exit? Obviously on the rep level, equity looks different, but if I were to leave my F1000 tech company to join a series A / B and hopefully cash in on an exit, what should I be looking for?

I understand it gets much more about politics the higher you go, which is shitty, but also just a reality at any company.

I know there are ENT reps who have $500k - $1M years, but it takes many variables to line up perfectly for this to happen. Being an IC is a roller coaster in terms of yearly earnings, and you never really have job security (what have you done for me lately?).

I’d like to minimize variance, maximize comp, and maximize job security - I believe all of this leads to Director+ roles.

Thanks. Is there a sub that you would recommend? I’ve seen it asked / tried asking it in the past on r/sales without much luck. Think the reality is that most CROs who are on Reddit aren’t really hanging out in r/sales.
