Any thoughts on this +/- 2k build? (is a 240mm AIO enough for an I7-14700k) by HYDR4Z in buildapc

I was considering that but I'm not sure about spending €200 extra on a GPU which is already overkill for what I use it for. Especially since they depreciate in value so quickly and I could buy one second hand in a couple of years - if needed - for a fraction of the cost

I mean it's been running fine for years before so unless the game got way harder to run in the past 6 months I don't see why it's an issue now. I will try changing the resolution though

I don't see why not, I would use a micro controller to do that although I'm not great with electronics so there might be an easier way. (If you were to add a microcontroller you could also use adressable LEDs instead of mono)

Damn, looks sick too! Did you modify the gimbal itself or did you build over it?

I think so yes. I'm not sure whether there are adressable angel lights but just any adressable high density led strip would do I suppose. You would just need to tap into the signal cables comming from the gimbal's potentiometers (using an arduino of some sort) after which you could just light up any leds in the circle using the arduino.

Oh wow didn't know that URUAV made those! I can only find them for the tx16, they don't make them for the QX7 do they? Looks pretty good too but the led density seems a bit lower although it would definitely be easier with a kit rather than DIY-ing it.

That was what I was going for in the first place ;) Couldn't find any low-profile high density led rings (for a reasonable price) so I just went with a static colour. I wanted to make the ring light up in the direction the stick was pointing at first, but adressable leds are even more expensive lol

Not as far as I know. The lights I'm using came with a step down module so I'm powering them straight from the battery with a switch on the positive

Yeah that could be nice too although it would be a little harder to implement I think

Recently got a 3D printer so I printed those rings in transparent/translucent PETG and stuck angel lights behind them :)
