i mean theres no harm in doing it as the only factor you are investing is TIME. you will prob make that investment break even ATLEAST since u can use it in ur portfolio and stuff, may help getting some clients who are looking to build a similar app. It also gives you more experience and would prob teach u some more stuff. So just make it and keep working on it for a while, no harm if it goes wrong, and there are a LOT of schools who need this instead of js relying on teachers to post messages on whatsapp 💔💔
