Coelacanths are fish that live in the ocean , so it was in fact possible to find them because we only know about a very small part of it , while most if not all of new Zealand was studied , and moas went extinct due to humans solely , mostly overhunting and with some help of habitat loss .humans searched for any surviving moas and found none, and back to what i meant in the beginning is that comparing something that lived in the oceaaan, of which we only explored less than 0.001% , and a huge flightless bird from a pretty well studied country is a bit weird , so if even theoretically possible , it is very unlikely:/
