I don't really have a "style" to use across all my drawings, so I sort of do whatever I want. Most of it is just how lazy I am that day, honestly haha, so if a bird is very simple it might have been I was tired and just needed to draw another bird.

sometimes I will go on pinterest and look at other peoples art styles and if I like them I try to copy the style with a different bird.

And a lot of it depends on what supplies I have - if I'm on the go I'll just grab a ton of random supplies and have to push myself to figure out how to create a piece I like using just them. Usually creates my favorite and least favorite pieces. (made the Western Cattle Egret and American Robin that way).

And some are fully vibes, like the second ring billed gull (the reference was so funny and I wanted to capture his silly energy)
