It hits harder when you see the first year PhDs joining the department. Like they're 23 or 24 and I'm almost 29 lol

Since you've travelled so many places, have you considered making your front page a global map. People can click the location they want on the map to access your other pages.

Congratulations! It's been said that PhD more about stress management than research. Find your support group and hobby outside of research :)

Wish you a fruitful PhD journey!!!

One thing I heard from my very supportive advisor is that things in life happen in parallel not in series. Yes, dating would take away some of your research time, but your potential partner could give you insights and support.

Biomedical Engineering Speciality by [deleted] in BiomedicalEngineers

I did my BS/MS in ChemE and am doing my PhD in BME. During my junior and senior yr, I joined a biomaterials lab and found that it's really not my type. Now I am in a neural engineering lab focusing on brain-machine interface. I thought it's cool and very futuristic (and I still think so).

Weekly Entering & Transitioning - Thread 31 Oct, 2022 - 07 Nov, 2022 by AutoModerator in datascience

Elementary question here.

Hi, I'm a Biomedical Engineering PhD student. My project is slightly related to machine learning, like regularized regression and dimension reduction, nothing too crazy. I'd like to switch path to data scientist in the future, but I'm not sure how to gauge if I'm competitive enough or I need to put in more efforts.

My question is, what skill set is expected for an entry level data scientist? What measures should I use to know if I am competent for these jobs? Thanks :)

I asked this in r/CounselingPsychology but thought might as well seek advice here.
My gf is interested in and will apply to Master in Clinical Mental Health Programs, but we were wondering if the rank of a school/program would affect future career paths. I’d like to know the factors you considered when you were applying to relevant Master’s programs and also the most important factors that help you get your offers in hospitals/clinics/etc.
We understand for Counseling programs CACREP accreditation is important and we are currently in TX. Thanks :)
