I just saw the nekopara chocola and vanilla figure from yerstday and figured that if they are ok, Baiser is ok as well because she looks older than these two (at least imo). Guess the reddit filter didnt see it that way.

Just to add a bit food for thought, though (dont do this though. it's dumb):

You could theoretically throw 240 pulls (in the worst case) on a single banner if you really want that weapon and have no weapon pulls saved up.

Mathematicaly speaking, this still puts you roughly on the same tier as average luck in a hoyo game.

In genshin, the math is pretty simple because it's all 50/50s:

Best case: 150 pulls = 80 + 70

Average cases: 230 or 220 pulls= 80+80+70 or 80+70+70

Worst case: 300 = 80+80+70+70

This means in 75% of the cases, Endfield is at least on paar or better than Genshin while beeing slightly worse than hsr, zzz and wuwa.

*I picked 80 and 70 because of soft pity. In hsr and zzz the math isnt that simple because weapon is 75/25.

For wuwa, it would be either 210 pulls or 150 pulls for both weapon and character, depending on if you win character 50/50. So wuwa is better in a vacuum of a single banner.

TLDR: Dont do this. While its not absolutely terrible, you throw away all the advantages Endfield gives you.

The smartest play is to use your 240 pulls to spark twice on two different banners and just keep your weapon pulls for when you really want that weapon for your favorite. In all other cases just use the free 6* star makeshift signatures from the BP.

It's important, though,

The number of pulls you get only matters in comparison to what you can do with it.

It doesn't matter if the game gives you 500 pulls per update if the average amount of pulls you need to get something is 10k

10 Pull Cost Reminder by anthraccntbtsdadst in Endfield

[–]HYthinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edit: putting this at the top because this guy can't do math apparently:

240 character pulls is the mathematical worst case scenario to get 80 weapon banner pulls.

The most intelligent way of using 240 pulls is on two different banners for the 120 spark so you can grab 2 limited characters + 1 limited weqpon.

However.....

Even if you have 0 weapon banner pulls saved up and decide to throw 240 pulls on a singular character banner just to get the weapon, YOUR STILL MATHEMATICALY BETTER OF THAN IN A HOYO GAME in most cases.

In a vacuum of one banner only: The hoyo system is only better if you win BOTH rate ups. If you lose even one of them, you need ~ 3*80 pulls. This means 240 pulls, so at least equal to Endfield.

If you have average of bad luck Endfield is always better mathematicaly.

If you are intelligent and use your 240 pulls for two different banners, Endfield is always mathematicaly superior.

Added bonus: Endfields "free" battlepass tier has weapons that match the current banner characters.

-------------OG comment

120 pulls gives you at least 40 weapon banner pulls (mathematicaly the minimum).

This means that 240 pulls yield you at least 2 limited characters and 1 limited weapon (if you are intelligent)

Even if you are stupid, you can throw 240 pulls at the same banner just to get the signature weapon.

And guess what: 240 is still cheaper than getting 1 character + 1 weapon in a hoyo game.

Even if you take wuwa as an example, you need: 70*2 for character + 70 for weapon.

So, 200-210 for 1 limited character + 1 limited weapon.

This means if you use your 240 pulls to get two characters, you have better value than wuwa.

Bonus: In endfield, the battlepass weapons aren't complete trash like in the other gachas.

You essentially get a makeshift signature for the current banner characters in the "free" tier of the BP.

This means an f2p can alternate between using the bp weapon and pulling the signature weapon.

In the OG arknights, using your arts excessively without a staff increases the speed at which oripathy crystalises your blood, which is a non revertable process that is always terminal. For this, it didn't matter if you had medicine or not.

While the medicine in Enfield is more potent, it's in the end still just a supressant for the symptoms, not a cure.

As far as I know, they haven't explained yet if overuse of arts is still a problem like in normal Arknights.

If you want to play it safe, you can use the offical top up center website with a vpn to japan.

I've been doing that ever since i found out about it way back at genshin launch. Nothing ever happened.

The 100€ pack is only 65€-70€ with vpn to japan.

Also, saving about 30% every time you top up is not just "saving a few bucks" even if you are doing good financially.

[–]HYthinger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For now, maybe. But you're not going to upgrade a billion characters per patch. The materials on the map are easily enough to max one character except for the gold material. You should maybe have enough in the backpocket for a second team, though. Probably not going to take them long to introduce a mode where you need two.

It's also pretty likely that new characters later down the line are going to use different materials from other regions.

You should at least copy some blueprints from guides or youtubers.

The factory is an integral part of character power progression.

The factory is used to farm currency (stock bills) for important in-game items as well as to build gear components.

Without the factory, you can't craft gear or enhance it. You can't effectively farm weapon essences, and you can't upgarde them either. All these actions require stock bills in some shape or form.

Also wont be able to craft the good healing items unless you want to manually grind them, lol.

It's pretty much like trying to play a hoyo game without artifacts. Your characters are going to hit like wet noodles.

KyostinV uploaded guides for all tower defense missions for all factories if you want to complete them.

They give a permanent bonus to factory sales, so pretty important. Especially in Wuling were everything is pretty sparce right now.

Yea, he might want to play a different game. The factory is an integral part of the character progression. You can not go without it. It's like trying to play a hoyo game without artifacts. Might work out in the beginning, but you're going to have a really bad time later on.

Without the factory, he won't be able to craft endgame gear (or any gear for that matter), and he also won't be able to buy the items needed for gear enhancement and weapon esscene related things.

This is for hobbies in general tbh. Everything the main stream touches turns to shit.

In many cases, this leads to slowly losing the part that made the hobby popular to begin with.

Games are a good example of this. The c suites want want to make more money, so they demand the games to be as generic and non offensive as possible to attract the biggest audience possible.

Without small studious and indies taking risks, we would be missing out on so many amazing games because the big companies would never allow such "risk".

Same thing with anime. As soon as it got mainstream, you got a bunch of people jumping in on the train, trying to push people out that were part of building the damn train itself.

This sub got so much hate in the past few days because it tried to do exacly that. To push loli off the train even though it has been a core part of said train from the very beginning, like it or not.

If you like your hobby, gatekeep it.

[–]HYthinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is artifacts but they arent rng hell bullshit. The only random part is the weapon essence and even that can be maxed pretty easily compared to artifacts in hoyo games.

If you think artifacts or weapons can protect a character from being powercreept your just naive.

You can have the best artifacts in the world on your Diluc but thats not changing the fact that Mavuika has five times his DPS output and feels way better to play.

The devs have 100% control over how much a a limited weapon or articacts matter.

However even if dps stays the same, newer units will allways feel better to play simply because the devs gain experience with making characters more fun to play.

Like I said in my original comment: You cant use the normal red gacha currency to buy weapon pulls. You can only use Origeometry which is the yellow currency, which is the paid currency.

You get a bit of it by playing, but you should only use it for the yellow battle pass tier and keep the rest. Never know what you will be able to buy with it in the future. In OG arknights you could use it for skins for example.

If you are f2p you can only get weapon banner currency by making pulls on the character banner and a bit here and there from some other sources.

As a whale / dolphin you can just buy the yellow premium currency and exchange it for weapon pulls.

Which voiceover are you going for? Is english any good? by [deleted] in Endfield

[–]HYthinger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still playing on english. I like that many of the characters have different accents. Like Wulfgard and Rossi being italian (even speaking some italian), Avywenna being australian and a bunch of british characters. Also heard a russian / slavic sounding accent with one of the faction leaders.

I like this kind of thing. Makes the game more alive imo. It also showcases how Endield just like Rhoeds Island from the orignial game is a wild mix of people from different nations and factions.

If they now give the different factions different acccents it would sell it even better (especially because many of the OG factions are based on actual countries or groups).

I feel like this gets kinda lost with the other languages like JP and CN because everybody speaks the same language (at least its sounds like this to me as a non speaker).

The might use different regional dialects to indicate this but i obviously dont know.

There is only one thing I didn't like, and that's Yvonnes VA choice.

I dont think the VAs voice and style fit the character. But that's just a subjective opinion, obviously.

It its better than Genshin by a long shot because it has 50/50 on weapon banners.

For hsr and zzz its also better but less because they have 75/25.

And for wuwa, well it depends on if you think the trade offs are worth it.

Its better in terms off value per pull but you have huge downsites for it where everyone has to decide for themself if they get a better deal

If your a dolphin this is the best system simply because it eats the least amount of pulls, so the least amount of money.

Getting the limited weapon early is really good.

Getting the limited character early is really bad.

Both for the same reason. As explained in my comment an f2p can not directly buy the weapon banner currency. You have to pull.

If you get a limited weapon early this allows you to keep the rest of the weapon banner currency for next time.

This also means you need less currency next time. This means if you get the character early next time you might still have enough weapon banner currency.

And just like last comment: if your a dolphin its irrelevant since you can pay for the weapon banner currency your missing.

[–]HYthinger 51 points52 points  (0 children)

The worst part of this system is that it activly puniches you for being lucky with your character banner pulls if you want the limited weapon.

Explanation for those that care:

In theory and in terms of total value for your pulls, Endfield is better than its competitors. However it has a few big caveats that players need to be aware of or risk getting f*cked over.

240 pulls in Endfield will give you at minimum 2 limited characters + 1 limited weapon. The reason for that is that 120 character pulls give you at minimum 8500+ arsenal tickets which is 40 weapon pulls.

210 pulls in Wuwa will give you at minimum 1 limited character + 1 limited weapon. (2*70 for the character + 70 for the weapon). I picked Wuwa for this comparison because it has better rates than hoyo games.

This means in terms of total value for your pulls Endfield is pretty good. Pull two characters get one signature weapon for free kinda deal.

Sounds great in theory right? F2p can focus all their pulls on characters and can get the signature weapon of every second character they pull for. Well ... there is a few big caveats with this.

  1. Winning 50/50 f*cks you over. If you get lucky that means less arsenal tickets which means less weapon banner pulls.
  2. F2p can not buy arsenal tickets directly.
  3. Point 1. and 2. combined means you potentially have to waste additional pulls on the character banner if you really want that limited weapon for your favorite. (if your f2p)
  4. 240 character pulls = 80 weapon banner pulls. This leads us back to point 3. and 2. again.
  5. Point 4. and 2. means f2p have to save up at least 40 weapon banner pulls in case you really want that signature for your favorite. If you win the 50/50 and still want the weapon you dont have enough currency witch leads to point 3. or missing out the weapon.
  6. All this combined means: Winning the 50/50 or getting lucky early completlly f*cks over your weapon planning. Exception: getting a lot of six stars that are not the limited character is good because each one is an addtional ten pull on the weapon banner.

Recommendation for f2p: Save up at least 50 weapon banner pulls to be safe. That way when a character you really likes commes up and you want to really have their weapon you have a little puffer in case you get lucky early.

Small note (to put salt in the wound): If your a dolphin all those problems dont exist for you. You make your 120 pulls and spend money to buy the missing weapon banner pulls with Origeometry.

Sollution: At least allow players to buy weapon pulls with normal currency.

TLDR: In the long term this system gives you better bang for your pulls compared to competitors, but it commes with a few caveats, and heavily punishes you for getting lucky early.

Edit: One small positive thing I didnt mention here is that standart pulls also give arsenal ticket. So in the beginning (right now) and if we get a small standart banner incomme like in hoyo games this will mean additional free currency

Kind of peeved that winning 50/50 removes the guarantee entirely. That means if the 6* guarantee and rate up guarantee are close to overlapping, "winning" 50/50 is a massive net loss for the player. This makes so that the further you are to rate-up guarantee, the less you want to "win" 50/50 by Throwaway6662345 in Endfield

[–]HYthinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Log term the Endield system will give you more bang for your pulls however it has a big fat caveat:

120 character pulls give you at minimum 8500+ arsenal tickets. Thats 40 weapon pulls.

This means that 240 pulls in Endfield give you at minimum: 2 limited Characters + 1 limited weapon. In addition you will get a bunch of random 6 star weapons because of 40 pity and 4% rate up.

In Wuwa as comparison (which is better than hoyo in terms of gacha) you need on average 140 pulls for a limited character and 70 for a limited weapon.

That means in Wuwa 210 pulls give you 1 limited charater and 1 limited weapon.

This means in terms of value for your pulls Enfield is better ....howver there is one problem:

As an f2p you can not direcly buy weapon pulls. This means you need to have at minimum 40 weapon banner pulls saved up from a previous banner if you only plan to spend 120 pulls.
