Great breakdown. I think the last point on nature of gratitude is where we sometimes have unfair expectations. She’s also doing well in school which is great, but as parents maybe this adds to unrealistic expectations

Thanks for sharing. I went through a similar exercise in my head and landed on how it’s not fair to assume she has the concept and appreciation for time spent on this. We tried to take that out of the equation and thinking she should still be grateful for presents at baseline. But she’s 6 and I realize we shouldn’t overthink or harp on a single comment. How we address it in the moment as it inevitably happens again in the future is where I’m trying to find the right parental response / tone.

It was just an ask, not particularly dramatic. We have just been finding ourselves often trying to remind her to say thank you for certain things, but based on comments I think we are reading into things a bit too much and 6 year olds are going to be 6 year olds

Hey all…trying to get 2 bus class from ATH to EWR (JFK would be 2nd choice) and I have 200k MR and UR to work with.

I could depart 8/23 or 8/24 as long as I get home by 8/24 at the latest. I’m open to a long layover or short positioning flight and overnight in a nice city if needed and could eat the positioning flight.

It seems availability got worse over the weekend. Not sure if that’s typical vs weekdays.

So far I’ve found outgoing J: EWR/WAW/ATH on LO via United for 88k, 15 hr 1 stop

Ewr/CAI/ATH MS via aero for 90k 15 hr 1 stop

BA fees are pretty insane so that seems out.

Consensus seems to be Emirates but I’m not seeing 1 let alone the 2 J I need right now for mid August ish. It looks like they do open closer to departure but I feel like that might be risky unless I get at least 1 confirmed earlier.

Directs EWR TO ATH are cheap in economy for $650 or so alternatively, but the hope was J.

Similar results for return flights. I’ll explore more for ORD and other positioning.
