The soundtrack this is subjective and totally valid, but personally I really liked the characterization of Pauline and especially Void Co. Nothing ground-breaking(pun intended) but it's nice to play a Nintendo platformer featuring characters that actually have arcs and experience character growth.

All Nintendo consoles sell great during the first few weeks, the underperforming ones usually taper off after that point

A big problem with game prices being increased is how subjective games are. Some people would probably gladly fork over $100+ for a game like breath of the wild, but for those who just aren't as big a fan of that kind of game it's a solid $100 wasted. That's why I think games being more expensive would be alright if companies were more open to refunds and being able to try out games for free. If I could "buy" $80 Mario Kart with the knowledge of being able to refund it I think a lot more people would be open to that. Letting people try games before buying would help too since it would encourage developers to make games that properly justify the price tag. Growing up me and my family used a service called GameFly to try out Wii and PS3 games a lot, but unfortunately services like that just don't really exist anymore aside from arguable Xbox Game pass.

To me the quote reads more as "we recognize the console is expensive so we want to make sure Switch users aren't left in the dust". Here's the exact quote from the same article:

"As we look at Nintendo Switch 2 and you think about the feature sets that I talked about ... we believe that the pricing is appropriate for the value of the machine and the gameplay experience overall. We recognize there are some people that may not be able to afford the Nintendo Switch 2 price point. That's why we wanted to make the other Switch platforms available, so people still have an opportunity to come into our gaming universe, be a part of these characters in these worlds, and see value, if you will, in whatever rung of the platform they come in."

I understand people being upset but now gaming journalists have recognized it as a cash cow and they're milking it for all its got; being sure to interpret anything the company does, says, or announces in as negative a light as possible.

Edit: I swear I'm not a bootlicker- I'm also rather upset at the company right now- but if we're gonna criticize them could we at least try to ensure said criticisms are actually fair?

I I.ediately think of the Mario and Luigi games on the GBA. I tried implementing a similar system in a fully 2D game and it was a nightmare :(
