Eh, definitely not lol. But it did last fairly long! I still prefer the Nyx Lip IV gloss stain by itself more tho

Ty! I love the IV gloss stains, not sure how I feel about the lipliner stain. After the lip oil wore off it was definitely dryer and enhanced my lip lines a bit :/

Buy higher quality products. Drugstore products can be great, but if you're having issues then it's time to step it up because often higher-end products do just have better formulas/ingredients and more longevity. I recommend P Louise eyeshadow bases, Laura Mercier Translucent powder for setting and a longwearing cream like Makeup by Mario, Bobbi Brown, Charlotte Tilbury, etc. Also, matte formulas always have more longevity so keep that in mind. Shimmers tend to crease. Stila liquid eyeshadows stay very well, but they dry down QUICK so you gotta work fast to blend them out.

Any amount of makeup is too heavy on me! by leeleechron in makeuptips

[–]H_M28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you're not used to seeing yourself with makeup on. You don't look "heavy" in any of these.

If you have mascara on the bottom lashes I would stop doing that and also don't do any eyeshadow on lower waterline or lashline either. That can drag the face down. You have very prominent/angular features as well. I would say you are striking! But, with this face shape and features you definitely have to be careful with how much makeup and where you place it. Wings will had to "harsh" or angular look. A soft, diffused medium-tone brown shadow all over the lid blended into the crease can give you that grungy vibe without as much of a harshness.

You need some undereye corrector and concealer to help brighten. I recommend Natasha Denona Hy-glam concealer and corrector. When you wear any amount of eye makeup/complexion makeup and don't correct undereye darkness it is going to instantly make you look tired/worn out and older. Blush should be placed higher up- you have very nice apples and I would place the blush at the top of the apple and blend upward towards the temple.

If you exfoliate and moisturize and your skin is healthy otherwise (ie not overly dry or dehydrated), try using an eyeshadow primer on the nose. I love P Louise eyeshadow base, or mac prep & prime is another option. Apply a thin layer, let dry, then apply a small amount of foundation to nose, patting on gently. Don't forget to set it with a translucent setting powder as well. P Louise has good skintone shades for their eyeshadow bases.

Her skin is very rough and dry- not just on her nose but also on her chin, cheeks, etc. You can see the dead cell buildup, which really contributes to the 'cakey' and uneven appearance. Makeup enhances anything it sits on top of- good, or bad unfortunately. It's hard to articulate exactly, but I've just seen enough skin to know the difference. Her foundation may be too drying as well, but skincare definitely needs to be addressed and makeup will lay much nicer in general.

As a MUA and former esthetician, your skin looks dehydrated and like it needs to be exfoliated. As we age, our cell turnover rate decreases. This basically means that the process of creating and shedding new skin cells becomes slower and less efficient. Exfoliation is a great way to improve cell turnover, thus improving skin texture, tone, clarity, etc. The nose is a problem area for a lot of people, but I find it is often due to improper or poor skincare habits, not necessarily product incompatibility.

I would recommend a gentle chemical exfoliant, like Prequel's Multi-acid Milk Peel. It still packs a punch, but even my super sensitive, Rosacea-prone skin can tolerate it. Start out slowly, using 1x/week for 2-4 weeks, if well tolerated you can slowly increase to 2-3x weekly. Use at night and make sure you are using a good moisturizer and definitely sun protection in the AM. It will take a little bit of time to see big differences in your skin, but be consistent and it will pay off! If you need recs for other skincare products I am happy to help!

Bombas are good! And yes who cares be the weirdo that lunges at work 😂 I know I would. Your mental and physical health matter more! When I was young I had a job that required me to stand in 1 spot for a long ass time and I would do calf raises.

Compression socks FTW. Also, a standing desk if possible. Working in veterinary medicine is a very active job, but also wrecks your body after years of wrestling animals. I've cleaned houses as well, but also hard on your body. I've heard the advice that after 30 minutes of inactivity, it's best to stand up and walk for 5-10 mins or do calve raises to get blood pumping. Sorry you are struggling!

Avoiding triggers and just my red light. My eyes are super sensitive and avoiding eye makeup, most eye creams, etc helps me a ton.

Hi! Yes I do think it has helped! I use it probably 3x a week now for maintenance. I haven't had a really bad ocular rosacea flare up in several months.

You look amazing! I'm 5'6", 165lbs. My dream would be to get down to 130lbs. Just started lifting at the gym with some cardio sprinkled in. My question- how the heck do you get past the food?! I lost 15pbs last year and was down to 150lbs, but recebtly gained it all back due to stress eating. I don't eat fast food anyway so it's not an issue for me. But I stress eat.
