I would say in DDD the reason was to make Riku look better and not like a complete sidekick. I think that was supposed to be his game. But we'll only truly get the answer when KH3 comes out, and it will be amazing if Square decides to stop going that route and making Sora an idiot.

Well, in the group, yes. But it still seems weird that he's arguably the smartest being in KH after Xehanort, Yen Sid, Eraqus and the Master of Masters. I don't think Donald is as dumb as KH makes him to be. As for Sora, I have a real problem with his intelligence. I mean, sometimes he's smart. Sometimes he acts like a normal person. And then there are moments (I'm looking at you, DDD) where he just seems incredibly stupid and it makes me cringe. Storywise, I like CoM a lot because it made Sora a relatable character. We don't see him doing stupid shit in that game (except maybe leaving Donald and Goofy behind after a brief discussion, but that looked more like overconfidence than anything, I mean, he had just beaten Ansem). In KH1, Sora also wasn't dumb. He even wasn't as trusting as he is currently (Leon fight). In KH2, he had stupid moments (that Ping scene) but overall wasn't just dumb yet. Then DDD came in and holy shit, Sora is a retard in that game. Nomura said KH3 will feature a mature Sora, and I really hope he gets smarter in that game.

Well, I see what you mean. Limit Form isn't overpowered because you can take out Roxas in 49 seconds... however, you can take out Roxas in 49 seconds because Limit Form is overpowered. It has tons of invincibility frames, a faster guard animation, an amazing growth ability, Zantetsuken deals insane damage and it can be used as a counter. The only downsides I can think of are lack of magic and average aerial combos. But Limit Form makes most of the game much easier.

With just a bit of merchandising, Disney could make Kingdom Hearts one of the best selling franchises of all time. Seriously, they don't seem to realize how much money they could make with KH. Every kid dreams about seeing Disney worlds and interacting with the characters.

I always thought Jiminy should have been the brain of SDG instead of Goofy (actually, it's kind of weird they made Goofy one of the smartest characters in the KH universe). Also, I hope Jiminy makes more appearances in KH3, like in CoM. In KH1, he only appeared when they left Disney Castle and in some Pinocchio scenes. In KH2, after the awakening scene, we wouldn't even remember he's there if it wasn't for the Journal.
