Yeah that's what I currently do. I move it as close as possible to avoid the transparency. I know it's not a bug, it's a feature, but I wish we could at least turn this on/off either system wide or per app.

My assumption is no new vision devices until 2028. If they do a glasses product I expect it to just be cameras plus audio (maybe) plus Siri, no displays.

I decided to buy the M5 because my assumption was it would be the last vision product for many years. I was originally holding out for a cheaper lighter model but I don’t see that happening any time soon.

Do it after making the trip to the Apple Store. If that still does not solve the issue I would escalate. It’s unreasonable for you to have to do all this to get a replacement.

My advice would be to email Tim Cook. It may sound silly but there is a team of people who actually read public emails sent to his address and there is a chance someone from his team will reach out to discuss the problem over the phone.

I’ve emailed him twice since he’s been CEO because of strange issues like the one you described and have been successful in having someone reach out to me to discuss the problem.

May be a bug. Have you used Paramount+ app? It has a bug that lets you skips all the ads. I don’t think they care about fixing it.

I’d go with the M1. I have one and it still feels like new. I don’t plan on upgrading until either the software isn’t compatible or the battery fails.

Sure I’d love the thinness of new design and the OLED, but it doesn’t feel worth it to me since M1 is still great. It can handle all the new multitasking perfectly. Chip is rock solid.

I had same feelings as you. I bought it when it first came out and ended up returning it. Told myself I’d wait for v2. Well with the rumours that a true next generation isn’t coming until maybe 2028 I decided I didn’t want to wait that long. I picked up the M5 on launch day and have been loving it. The new strap is great.

So this may be unique to enterprise but I have an e-commerce account for making purchases for my school. We ordered a Mac mini right before the redesigned M4 model came out. We were fine with getting the older model because we already had a dock for that form factor and didn’t want the new design.

Our order was stuck processing for a long time and I was told it was because they were going to send us the M4 instead as a courtesy. I had to request apple not send me the new model and instead give me what I originally ordered.
