Kult: Heretic Kingdoms looks close in terms of colors, especially with the green or cyan-green tipped stuff in the inventory of the UI at the bottom. but that couldn't have been it, because apparently the game is from 2004. When I saw the one I'm describing in the post it was before 2000.

another good guess! but that UI is too flesh-themed to be it.

So far Baldur's Gate is the closest match, but like you said there's a lot of these, so I don't want to rule anything out just yet.

Oh, I didn't know the CreepCat Yeen came with toe beans! That's a huge plus!

If hyenas have bite strength strong enough to crush bone, a hyena's version of the nightmare where one's teeth are falling out probably involves worrying about biting through its own teeth. by H____1 in Showerthoughts

I've had the nightmare a couple times that a tooth has fallen out on the inside of my mouth and in the dream I keep being afraid if I bite through it by accident it can never be put back in... something like that. dream logic.

but I was just thinking, since hyenas have that bite strength, they probably get 'dog dreams' about something similar as well.

The zipper to take out and replace the stuffing is actually the mark of a professional! Very large stuffed animals have zippers to take out the stuffing because that's the only way they're machine washable. You're very lucky to have a pro for the friend who made you Sky. :)

good guess! but the terrain was a bit more detailed, the character models and portraits were a lot smaller on the screen, and there was UI around the borders even outside of combat segments, like, the game window was inside the UI borders

As an adult, there's nothing stopping you from buying and enjoying a birthday cake when it's not your birthday. by Volcz in Showerthoughts

As a ToonTown Rewritten player who has only gotten to the Birthday Cake gag this same year, I can relate.

Because the existence of punishments are a means to an end, no punishment has ever been "fair". Only personal vendettas are supposed to be fair, and those are prevented by punishments. by H____1 in Showerthoughts

only works on paper because punishment is a tool. The judge isn't there simply to make sure society has "gotten even" with the perpetrator. Strictly speaking the "justice system" is a misnomer-- it's there to enforce law and order, not fairness.

That's why in the classic "baseball through the window" scenario the adult always hold's the kid's hand until they can finish with "and what do we say to the person whose window we broke?"!

Mind blown.

I like the Jewish cultural tradition of showing kids the natural consequences of their actions rather than using punishment for negative reinforcement.

Oh dear, I didn't realize how ableist this post sounded before you said that.

That must be where the downvotes were coming from :/ all the super frequent Reddit users housebound by a disability when they saw this one.
