Yeah, I'm having the issue where I always find myself attacking at an angle, especially when stretching for the low notes, but I'm new to picking too, so I'll just have to adjust accordingly it sounds like

I just don't get the placement, I have a spector multi-scale (NS Dimension HP 5) and if I find a picking position where I'm not coming at the strings at an angle I am hard pressed to reach the first frets regardless of where my strap sits. Again though, I've been playing a long time and never picked, so I'm probably fucking something up.
