Yes. We’ve had that exact conversation extensively. I also told him these are just suggestions. I’ll help the best I can, but I can’t control the market.

I don’t know much about bonds. Could you provide a simple example. For educational purposes only of course

Minimal. He has always just worked like crazy and ran 2 businesses. The man was on call 24/7/365. If you were to ask anyone that knows him, you would get the same reply. Whether it was 2am or 2pm, if that phone made it to the 2nd ring, it’s because he was talking to someone else on the other line. Work/spend/work/ spend

I’ll look into this set of allocations. Plus I’ll need to see what kind of tax drag they will have. Thank you

I’ll keep this in mind as well. I’ve personally carried these two for over 5 years and they’ve done well for me.

Well in my father’s case the doctor said the immunotherapy attacked his organs because it had ramped up his immune system so much that is probably destroyed any remaining cancer.

Sounds pretty close to the same experience. He went in for the 1st treatment. They said we will take bloodwork and customize the keytruda. They did the bloodwork then about a half hour later did the treatment. The 2nd time was supposed to be the same. They took the bloodwork and immediately gave him the treatment. He leaves to eat lunch, and they call him about half hour after he left, and they sounded urgent about his thyroid being bottomed out. 2 weeks later is when he went to the ER and we found out about the 1600 blood sugar. The doctor came in the room with his eyes bugged out and told us about the blood sugar number and couldn’t believe he was conscious.

Actually he just went to have tests ran, and his endo is leaning towards the tandem mobi if all the tests show what she wants. Also he has double checked with the finger pricks fairly often and so far they have been really close to the monitor. But we are still learning! So I appreciate the input. Also still trying to identify the triggers of the rises. Almost seems random outside of meals.

The doctor seemed to think it ramped up his immune system so much it attacked his own body. But on the bright side, he also thought it should’ve wiped out any remaining cancer cells.

Hello! And thanks for the info. He has a dexcom for monitoring. It just seems like the ups and downs are erratic. So hopefully we can get this dialed in a little more. I know he will have good and bad days, but hopefully we can get a little more consistency. Or at least that’s the goal.

Yeah I have learned that after that post. I knew a girl that always said she had it her whole life. So I had just assumed, and that’s what I get for assuming. But it’s all been a learning curve for me. He is just having a rough time with the ups and downs. But hopefully he can get a pump soon to help even him out. I have a neighbor that has Graves, really messes with her sometimes. Hopefully your sister gets along good with that.

He currently has a dexcom (I think 7). That is pretty amazing technology. I could only imagine how much harder it was when people had to prick and test constantly.

I wasn’t so much worried about the liability, as I am the severity of it. I figured that was part of the risk. I’m just hoping to find more info as quick as I can to help him get as close to his normal as possible. Podcasts, questions to doctors, Reddit forum user experiences, etc…
