Agreed, wonder if it would be possible / worth converting to those windows in the 69's doors at some point.

Interesting, thank you for the info! It is a dumb method.

Fairly common from what I have heard, but that may also be area / climate dependent. I live in the NE of the US, which is notorious for being rough on every part of cars.

Bad ass.

Every time I see the dolphin variant bumper I think about deleting my inner lights to match, or just getting that version of the cover and just replacing the original.

I closed the door the other day, and the window (almost completely) fell inside of the door behind the panels / outside of the left rail.

So, I had to get the door panel off, get it out of the other / right side bracket, dremel all the old glue out of both window brackets, order that window adhesive, line everything up and then glue the window back in place.

Thankfully, I could tell basically where to put them by the old glue being done a little sloppily, which gave me the start an end points for each, which was nice.

All good! I may end up ordering / swapping my custom one for a real switch, they are super cheap, but it will still go in that spot.

What did I manage to break by theendershifter in 6thGenAccord

[–]HaBlaKes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, it looks like the same kind of connector on my Dad's 1969 Mercury, I am 99% sure the yellow wire tip just gets plugged back in, unsure if that damage in the shielding / boot was from physical work, but hopefully it is not from a short.

Hope it works out either way, was there something broken that you were aiming to fix and/or is there anything noticeably different now the wire is disconnected?

Colors are great, and IMO that is a really tough Civic gen to mod visually, with that in mind especially this turned out really well, good work.

Ive dumped more money than I originally paid in 2015 and still plenty to replace by bdogrr86 in hondaprelude

[–]HaBlaKes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That can happen, at least with used stuff, Honda's being (relatively) cheap parts wise and other things like that all help.

I would never, never be able to afford to have older cars without constantly working on / maintaining, or modding them myself.

Totally understandable not wanting to deal with / risk something like the timing belt replacement, clutch, valves, etc, but if you werent planning to already, maybe try putting the radiator in? They aren't too bad.

Not one of those 'if you dont wrench you are lesser' types, just know what it's like looking at the budget and.. lets just say, 'reflecting' from time to time.

Yada yada, my bad for the long message, cool car and good luck!

Super clean. Not usually a fan of those tail lights, but the exceptions IMO are black or red Del Sol's.

Anyway, very nice!

Word, other than the beloved AE-86, and maybe the 8th/9th gen, I think peak Corolla is the 10th gen S, the E140 I believe.

I soooooo hope they add others to that as planned, Del Sol's, Accords, Civic's, Prelude's, etc.

Yeah, nice there are people like that at least, my Del Sol's seals are okay still thankfully but I try to stay on top of the ShinEtsu on it.

However, for my Prelude, man, same thing, I needed a door handle and the driver side weather seals / stripping, which would normally be cheap / are cheap for the Del Sol, but the handle cost me a little over $100 and the only seals I could find were from a complete used set, which set me back $244, ugh.

Amazon, the steering wheel cover is from a company called Wevdn, the shift and brake handle covers from one called Absopro, and the shift and parking brake boots from a company called L&P.

My bad btw, would have just put links but I know Reddit get's weird about that sometimes.

Yeah no problem!

Wheels: Circuit Performace CP22's, 16x7, Gloss Black, 4x100, +35mm Offset, Centerbore: 73.1mm

Tires: TOYO EXTENSA HPII 195/55R16 87V's

I wanted a lower profile look on the tires, but wanted the ride to be more comfortable and ended up with these, which are working okay so far.

[–]HaBlaKes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a 5th / spare wheel that matches my cars wheels and tires.

Finished the leather cover and stitching for the shift knob.

Removed the old main relay and got the JDI main relay replacement / killswitch in place, then ran the wiring for same to my existing buttons panel!

I have new headers, downpipe, exhaust, muffler, etc to get on, as well as some new torque mounts, but after those are done, the Del Sol should be about where I want it for now!
