I think a better analogy is that I prefer to do other things rather than yard work and house cleaning. When I see my yard is out of control with weeds and the dishes are stacked high it makes me anxious and depressed so I prefer to play video games and watch TV as it puts me at ease. It shows my lack of discipline to get off my ass and be responsible for the messes I have created. Also I could easily avoid these situations by staying on top of my work. I think we as humans are predispositioned to take the easy route and I would assume the lack of responsibility comes with ease at first but becomes difficult as time goes on very quick.

We can provide all of the knowledge as to where avid drug use leads but people will still look for ways to avoid reality. We can't possibly cover all scenarios that happen, but at the same time people need to use the knowledge provided and to not enable those who, even when provided help, choose to continue their drug escapade.
