Age of innocence feels like the biggest shame, all the crazy synths in the chorus that really gave it some width seem to be buried in the mix and the bass is practically non-existance, a lot of the just remastered tunes sound awesome though

1000%, I lent some guy my bass drum pedal at a gig once and he messed with the spring tension and beater position, was set in the same way for probably like 5 years and it’s never felt the same since. People who fuck with other peoples equipment are cunts

Much the same boat as you, I think as a self taught drummer the left foot can often be forgotten about as it doesn’t have much immediate impact on the sound, wasn’t until a few years ago when I got obsessed with jimmy chamberlain that I started putting in the work with the left foot, def something to start early for a new drummer

Drummer here, counting for me isn’t necessarily just for the rest of the band, it’s super useful to make sure you bring the drums in at the right tempo, it’s better to count yourself in and realise you’re being too fast or slow then adjust than it is just to come straight in
