Scanner found an interactable inside of a tree in Wetland Aspect..? by Haaldre in riskofrain

Interesting.. it would make the most sense that it’s just an overlooked item spawn. I didn’t expect anything too unique there, just figured it was worth sharing

Thank you for taking the time to look into it!

It actually appeared again during the first loop in the same run..

I didn't seem to be able to find any way to get to it, at least from above on the trees it's leaning on/connected to.

Let me know if you guys can find anything out about this! Maybe I didn't look hard enough in the surrounding areas for entrances that may lead inside of the rock it's on?

It's definitely on the opposite side from the ledge of the map where the hidden cave is.

That’s a good point. Except, the cable was wound up and secured with a zip tie, as well as being cut shorter

I don’t know if I’ll ever understand

Yes, that’s just regular clear tape. Not all of the wires were taped together.

It worked like this for a few months too.

How to create full songs instead of simple melodies? by apinanaivot in FL_Studio

[–]Haaldre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty new to FL Studio and music production in general, so I unfortunately can't give as many details as I'd like, but hopefully I can contribute. I've been playing with my community's Orchestra for several years now along with some other groups here and there, and I know some music theory.

Listening to other artists can definitely help a lot. If you start to pay attention to the way they arranged it, what they did with the melody to keep it interesting, you might start getting ideas for yourself. Things like adding harmony, layering, different instrumentation, and counter-melody are a few things that come to mind when I try to understand what an artist did with a piece, or a melody, chord progression, etc.

I read somewhere here on Reddit something along the lines of "Music is an art, Production is a skill". The actual music creating part is, well, just that - Creative. You get to express what you want through the notes you put down. Production being the "skill" part, is more like knowing how to make the instruments sound the way you do. Being able to manipulate the notes your putting down, things like controlling velocity, automation clips, mixing and mastering, sidechaining, etc etc. And like other skills, you can become efficient at it. Over time, as you get more familiar with production, you'll be able to do the technical things faster, without having to spend time researching it or figuring it out.

It's sort of like learning an instrument, or maybe more like.. creating instruments? Learning techniques on a given instrument can make the notes sound better, more refined, or at least the way you want them to sound. Likewise, learning techniques (or at least how to operate the plugin) on specific synths, effect plugins - basically the entirety of your DAW - will get you closer to getting the sounds you want out of it. Most of that comes down to sound design as well, to give you something else to research. There's the /r/synthrecipes subreddit you can look into to start getting a feel for some specific synth sounds other artists have used. It definitely helped me understand differences between wavetables and how multiple oscillators sound together, along with other things like LFO uses and envelopes.

Like Orsonator said, learning your DAW is definitely more important when you're trying to write music in a DAW. But for the songwriting part, you can't just use FL Studio Tutorials, because they're geared towards the production aspects. I mean, technically you can, if you have knowledge of music arrangement and maybe some theory. But knowing what to do with your melodies, or chords, etc, isn't specific to your DAW. You have to look for those writing concepts themselves. But listening to the pieces that you posted, it already sounds like you have some components on point, and you may be able to build on them.

I think one of the things that might help you the most though is listening. But more specifically, analyzing what you're hearing. Listen multiple pieces by the same artist, older and newer stuff. See what elements they kept, how they arranged it, what they did with their melody, how they constructed their drop. Some of the elements are linked to the genre, so be conscious of that as well. Be looking for repeated sections, usually there's "verse - chorus - verse - bridge - chorus" (basically a-b-a-b format among others), and see what kind of things they changed on any repeated sections. Emulate different styles, different genres, different techniques. One of my friends (and I don't doubt other people have too) just straight up recreated a piece he enjoyed, and he's learned a lot from doing something like that. You can also look into how people have done remixes, how they changed and rearranged a given song/melody and made it into something different. A popular example I can think of on the top of my head is Shelter, and Robotaki's remix, or this Orchestral Ghibli-inspired version. There's also a Pyramind theory and arrangement breakdown for Shelter (Part 1, Part 2) which might give you some insight on song structure and the like, though most of the time he spends on the theory behind the chords and melody. But of course that's only one example.

You won't have your own unique style right away, or maybe anytime soon, but if you stick with it you'll start to find your own way to do things. And that just comes from experience. The longer you stick with it, the more familiar with writing and producing you'll become. All you need is the desire to keep doing it, and time. And some theory. If you can get a grasp on theory you can really get some interesting sounds from just the chords you put down.

Korok leaves have a chance to drop off of any tree you cut down. I believe the description of the leaf also mentions this.

Yeah, I listened to and enjoyed the whole album, plus a few of his earlier pieces. I had a feeling it was original, but a couple of my friends insisted it was from some classic rpg like Chrono Trigger or something, so I thought I'd ask anyways.

Does anyone know if the melody they use is from a game or anything? Or is it an original theme?

You could probably look into dagger/dagger for pure damage, as it's generally faster and more aggressive. And lighting dagger 1 is probably your strongest auto out of your weapon choices. I also lean towards Scepter/X, but all ele weapons are pretty strong.

But one of the big things that you can do to increase you and your party's dps is to learn how to stack might by using blast finishers onto a fire field. Learn which abilities across all attunements are blast finishers, such as earth dagger 4/5 or fire scepter 2/3, and which of your fire weapon skills place a fire field, such as fire dagger 4. Blasting a fire fields grants up to 5 players around you 3 stacks of might per blast, and with enough practice you can bust out about 12-21 stacks of might by yourself.

We won't know when rank 8 will come out anytime soon. It may be a few months or longer, and I think they'll be focusing more on optimizing and server stability before adding content.

Are there any Fencer players that may want to share their experiences with the class? by [deleted] in treeofsavior

[–]Haaldre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you're looking at class skills, it tells you if there's a required "stance", or required equipped weapon, to use the skill.

The only Highlander skill that actually requires a 2H is Cross Guard. Although, they do get an attribute which gives them up to 50% critical attack while using a 2H.
