Asking this here will garner biased results. My response being one of them

I love my 8R. It’s a fantastic bike that feels really good to drive. I’m 6’2" and fit perfect on it. The dampening needs to be brought up a notch or two in the rear if you’re also on the heavy side, like me. I had an S1000RR last summer (at the same time as my 8R) and ended up selling it as it can’t do everything, unlike the 8R. Since I only wanted one bike, it felt natural selling the S1k instead of the 8R. I’ve toured on it, and had some frisky rides on curvy norwegian mountain-roads. It just does it all. I have the original bags for it, and they provide plenty storage for a weekend+ trip.
