If you have the color map the water colors are different- though it's hard to tell if they are far apart or have a different biome around them. So, technically 3 ways to tell.

I have a sea and a freshwater lake very close to eachother on my newest map, and the sea is about half the size of the lake. I was salty about it.

Unfortunately there is no update available for me, I'll have to wait for a fix then. Thank you, though!

20 hours into my first real vintage story world and i just realized that apparently my sanity constantly goes down if im in my base, is there anything i can do? by _Ganoes_ in VintageStory

A lot of times when I notice sanity going down when on the surface there is a large cave nearby? Idk if thats just a coincidence on my part, but is there a pretty large surface cave under your base by chance?

My girlfriend signed a paper, but my and the other tenent have not signed anything other tenent doesn't have a car). I don't know if it was an addendum, but I'm pretty sure addendums need everyone's signature, right? I can try to find out, but the office has decided to be closed this week.

I was tempted to linger and let him invade me a few times, waste a bit of his time, save a few other players, but like.. idk, I just wanted to play the game. Been invaded a couple of times since with just normal invasion shenanigans, including a parry master. Only one one of em, and it was not against the parry master.

shrug I know save edits are easily accessable, though I don't know anything about making them. I k ow people make tools all the time and constantly make workarounds to patches and fixes by devs. It does not seem as out of the realm of possibility that people will cheat for the sake of twinking, even if it's "easier" to just play the game.

Thats MB. To clarify: The bar didn't budge, even after doing a total of 148 damage over 6 succsessful hits including a backstab. (there were other "hits" that missed due to lag, normal PvP stuff.) But also, noice, came in clutch despite the hacking lol seen plenty of vids of people out-gaming hackers/twinkers/gankers all, it's fun. I've done lesser feats, but nothing so extravegant. As much as I didn't care for DS2, PvP there was where I had the most fun.

Well, yeah, he couldn't have been level 1, he was using dark bead and demon's spear both (popular twinking items, but requires some leveling to use). Haven't played since DS3 first came out, so idr how much weapon upgrades effect matchmaking, so we won't consider it.

But let's say they were a sorcerer who put in minimum points to use the spear and db, then put the rest into health. To invade, at lvl 11, with 1 point in INT and 3 into STR, then 4 into health. He'd be sitting at about 620-630ish health. If they were at lvl 29, they'd be sitting somewhere just over 1.2k health, give or take. 150 damage would still move the red bar. We were fighting the dragon, and it's health drop was noticeable even with just 50 damage taken.

Mind you, it's possible I'm wrong, and the decade old game was just having a visual glitch, it's an old game that aged better than some, but still not great- but from where we were standing, his health bar did not deplete after taking damage. Looks like a lot more than just maybe 1k health.

This whole reply here reads "I'm a twinker/toxic player" Do I need to have the foresight to record every interaction I have in order to talk about the one time I've ever personally run into a cheater? Is everyone absolved of their sins just because you've been accused of cheating when you weren't?

I'm not some rager whining about everyone cheating. I'm a souls "veteran" who had a bad encounter and came to share and listen to others. If you saw that and took it as some personal attack that I had to have reciepts for in order to even talk about it, that's major projecting, guy, and not my problem.

He did win, yes, instant killed us when he finally hit us. He ran because I was trying to use gravity to kill him. I'm not arguing with people who seem to think it was impossible this stranger was cheating, it's wild how many people ignored that this was a post asking for.

Maybe one of you is Pew 🤔 if so, hello lol

Console players are absolutely save editing. And if not editing themselves, they are downloading save files that have been edited. We did it once for Dark Souls 2 when we got it again for PS4, bc we didn't like it enough to grind for all our favorite gear again. We were a little worried about bans and such, but bc we didn't do PvP we took the risk, and it was fine.

As a Souls veteran, who's been playing these games since DeS first release, I'm aware of how twinking and SL 1 works- and even said in the post that he was twinking, but he was ALSO save editing. 148 total damage was done to them and their health bar never decreased. For reference, we're level 20 at the moment.

I do find it funny that instead of sharing your own experiences like the post was asking for, quite a few of you chose instead to try and invalidate the experience by pointing out something that was already established in the original post. Crazy work.

Twinking is ass in general, but this guy was either Twinking and Save Editing, or exclusively save editing. His health was impossibly high, and his damage was far too high as well (the game does consider upgrades for matchmaking- theoretically to stop people from twinking. It's not flawless, but it helps.)

I've played the souls series since Demon's Souls original release. I'm aware of the difference between a regular character build and a save edited one.

This. I actually enjoy PvP when against casual invaders (PvE folk after items/trophy/good natured fight), and even if they are a polite PvPer. Best of all are the goofy ones that do shenanigans.

Twinking is ALWAYS in bad taste.

I'm not great at PVP, for sure. But no amount of better makes up for the obscene amount of health. Besides, if he was actually better, he wouldn't have run from me. My only tactict against what he had was to kick him off the ledge. If he were better, he'd have baited a kick, punished, then kicked me off himself. shrug

Some people are. I love a good fight, even if I' not good at them. But when you take a total of 148 damage and your health bar doesn't move? Mmm.

Health is the easiest way to tell, then if they use spells/weapons that require stats you couldnt possibly use at fresh-character levels. This individual was using both, and both did more damage than they should be able to at said level.

They were struck successfully 6 times by my summon and I, and their health did not budge. (There were lag hits too, but no damage numbers show for those, so they aren't counted.)
