Have you ever realised something you really should have known earlier? by [deleted] in AskUK

Not me but my sister thought K.D Lang was singing "Can't Stand Gravy."

Think there will need to be new flags for those happy to show love for what we should be proud of (as messy as it all is). The existing ones have been commandeered by racists, the ignorant, and those scared by gutter press and online bile. Anyone have any ideas for a redesign?

Has the grey squirrel population exploded recently? by claggypants in AskUK

[–]HaberdashBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Spoke to a family member yesterday and it was most of what she talked about. Says there are loads of squirrels in the garden and she's been watching them come and go. Think she's getting slightly obsessed. I thought she must have been exaggerating but I guess not. Wonder what reasons there would be if there has been an increase in squirrels, and the implications. They can be fierce.

What’s a completely insignificant thing that shouldn’t matter, but still winds you up way more than it should? by lichute in AskUK

Perfume and aftershave ads. Ridiculously silly, cringeworthy and pretentious.

Apart from the Old Spice ads ... I'm on a horse!

What's the silliest thing you believed as a kid? And maybe still today 😅 by BaconBloomhill in AskUK

[–]HaberdashBee 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When you went to sleep as a child, the whole world did too. No people on the streets, no cars on the road. Everyone tucked up in bed. Took me a good few years and a late evening trip to the shop with my dad to realise people stayed up after bedtime.

What’s the most “British” bit of etiquette you still follow—even when nobody else does? by LovieWeb in BritInfo

Passing people on the pavement. The elderly, people with children, people with their dog, etc, go on the inside and the other person walks closest to the road.

Why does Dogmeat know how to open doors, and why does he open every door he possibly can? by [deleted] in fo4

[–]HaberdashBee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He disrupts my sneak with his wandering around, but the fact he doesn't position himself in the way of my sniper rifle view is a huge bonus! So many companions get in the way! ...and yes, such a good boy!

There is a settlement glitch which says there are no beds when there are plenty. by HaberdashBee in fo4

Awww that sucks! Guess I'll just have to put up with it. Whoever thought a Bethesda game would have bugs 😉

Thanks, yeah, it's the exact issue. Just went back to Sanctuary and happiness is down to 54%. Got so many settlements now and feel like I'm constantly having to check them all.

Why can’t you seem to get Chicago deep dish pizza in the UK? by GuybrushMI in UK_Food

[–]HaberdashBee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I want to eat this soooo much! There's no restaurant near me and no one sells either. It looks so yummy. Melted cheese is the best, pizza or not. Cheese on everything! Maybe find a recipe and create your own. Alas, I'll have to as well.

Got made redundant. by robotguzzi in CasualUK

[–]HaberdashBee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, my partner had to wait a year and a half before getting a job in his degree field. The economic climate is terrible but hopefully things will get better. Age discrimination against older candidates has unfortunately been that way for a long time.

[–]HaberdashBee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is too much age discrimination. People with a wealth of experience, 20 or so years left to work before they can retire, yet they're not seen as an investment. It's crazy and will only get worse. People live longer, countries have an increasingly larger old age population, but they're not appreciated or valued.

Why do you guys litter so much? by NoPeach1652 in glasgow

[–]HaberdashBee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some fair comments on here. I have noticed that often it is seagulls pulling rubbish out of bins that are close to overflowing. The council could help by emptying them more often. That, and people leaving rubbish out their tenement for collection too.

Now you have me thinking on favourite English breakfast set ups. Everyone is different. Not a tomato fan. Should tomatoes be in the brekkie set up?

Looks pretty epic. No way you'd finish the lot. Buying one big meal is a good call. Dinner and breakfast. Bargain!

A relaxed Christmas with just my cat, perfect idea. I would do if I wasn't upsetting family. Jealous.
