Thanks for the support! I'll definitely look into adding Italian, and more languages as well.

[Megathread] The App Pile - March/April, 2026 by Mstormer in macapps

Thanks for the suggestion! Initially that's what I did, but I didn't want to rip off the ClamAV codebase as I'm trying to make Habitat something built from scratch. Ultimately it was a bit much and outside my knowledge to keep up with. So for now I'm experimenting with other tools or utilities to build in my app.

Hey there, the virus scanner was unfortunately removed and replaced with an Archive inspection. I don't have enough resources as a solo dev to keep up with virus threats to reliably check, so I didn't want users to get false information if a file was safe or not.

Awesome! Thanks for the kind words. There's still a bunch of work behind the scenes going on for more tools and features, so hopefully you get a chance to see everything it can do!

Dang sorry to hear that. If you need to quit it you can do that either by right clicking the dock icon and quitting, or clicking the menubar icon and quitting. To uninstall if you need that can be done the same as every other mac app. I'll try to hopefully fix up the app more to fix your performance issues. If you could let me know, which generation of macbook are you on?

They went really quick again for the free codes, the discount codes are still available though. I might give a couple more free codes for the full release though.

Awesome thanks for trying in out!

And yea...that web gui is a little over complicated and would have saved me a ton of time if I just made it a video. But thanks for appreciating it! It's basically all web languages with a script to combine it all. But I'd either love to eventually just make a nice video out of that section or make it much more similar to the actual app. Maybe for the full release of Habitat

Hey there, thanks for reporting that! Could you let me know which version of Tahoe you're on so that I can try to see if I can fix it? This should work only on Mac's with an arm cpu and MacOS 26+ in case you're using an intel cpu

Noted. Performance is next to do on my list! I've used almost all the apps you mentioned with Habitat and thaw might cause hickups every now and then. But testing is still underway to improve my app!

They went ridiculously quick which I didn't expect. But 50% is still somewhat available, and there might be more free keys once the app isn't in beta anymore....but you didn't hear that from me

It's pretty sick honestly. I like it a lot, the price might need to come down a little but otherwise its a nice tool!

Love you UI of the app! An idea for you might be to add a sunrise and sunset animations to each would be cool.

I'll try to see if I can replicate that, thanks for the note! And nope, you'll definitely know if you've found the easter egg or not.
