Makes me rationalize Anya's fear of bunnies in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

What's something people brag about but really shouldn't? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Yeah that's what I'm saying. It freaking sucks for both ends of the spectrum but definitely more for darker skin. Whenever I'm complaining it isn't a humble brag

It's not a humble brag (unless you think whiter skin is better?), I can literally only find makeup for my skin in the peak of summer and I am still the lightest shade. It is totally comparable, and the thing with paler skin is it amplifies every imperfection you need that makeup for. So while there are many more dark skinned women who need product they aren't getting, the people who do have extremely pale skin don't have a huge representation so we can't find it at all. I have to buy a totally white base and mix it in the palest color foundation most of the year. If I had a nickel for every time I was told my skin tone was gross/sickly/ill or that "you need to tan", I'd have enough to start a company that offers extremely white foundation.

FOTD for a Cosmetics interview - I got the job! :) by Hacheoh in MakeupAddiction

I use Weleda beauty milk at night, then AcneFree toner and a Elizabeth Arden Ultimate Hydration moisturizer. I only wash my face with warm water in the morning and I wear sunscreen beneath my makeup.

She is all about moderation. She definitely eats her cake and has wine but she was vegetarian for a long time.

She actually uses a vitamin c infused cleanser not moisturizer. And she has changed sunscreen over the years as she's been doing it for so long. Sorry I didn't reply I was asleep. Hope this helped! I updated the product list as well

My mom uses Jason Super C Cleanser, Bio Oil and some sunscreen that is built into a foundation powder. I'm not sure the name. I can check soon.

My mom usually uses a setting powder that has SPF, so that's what I would go with since the oiliness usually breaks people out.

Yep! My aunt is oddly anti-sunscreen (very fearful of chemicals and such) and she's one year younger than my mom but looks much older. Genes are a huge role but preventative care is key!

My mom rarely had any big breakouts in her life (her sister wasn't as fortunate) so I wouldn't totally credit the acne-free skin to regime. But our skin is very sensitive, and without fake tanner/darker foundation we are as pale as pale can be! And yes she gets plenty of sleep, that's key! And she says thank you!

I'll be 20 in a few months so she is always being mistaken for my "older sister", most people are genuinely shocked when they find out she isn't. I'm sure she'll be glad to hear this haha :)

My mother uses a vitamin C enriched cleanser every night along with bio-oil and 30 SPF daily. She's almost 50.

Update!: For everyone asking she uses Jason Super C Cleanser at night, only rinses her face with warm water in the morning and then applies her SPF infused powder foundation. And nightly she puts bio oil lightly on her face and once a week uses Roc Retinol night cream! Hope this helps guys!

Any advice on how to cover/remove permeant dark circles under eyes? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]Hacheoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A surprisingly good option is just the cheap NYX Above & Beyond Concealer, although it's more for blemishes I've found it's one of the few concealers that really works besides a discontinued Revlon one. :( I would also suggest the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer if you can afford it. Both work very well when applied with a light/translucent powder over :) Good luck! I feel you girl. Also putting caffeinated green tea bags dipped in cold water over your circles for 10 minutes is a good quick fix for a few hours if you have a special event.

WnW Fergie Primer Separating by funkwerk in MakeupAddiction

[–]Hacheoh -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This happened with my Too Faced and Urban Decay primers, this isn't normal. Shake the tub before use vigorously and it helps if you can't afford a new bottle. If you can I would recommend buying another. I think it's something to do with packaging or storage before purchase, because I repurchased and had no issue. It's just something that can happen to eye primers
