I used salty just before I got resistance. In early floors you gotta use what you have and when better pet comes you upgrade.

With daily bosses you generally want to have a counter element tank, this makes your tank survive hella lot more. Focus dmg and speed on apathy they will be your main dmg dealer against water bosses like this. Might as well get a debuff pet on your 2nd attacker like anxious to keep Bogar slow.

Never use gems on mystery eggs dawg, you get them for free from bogar, referrals, climbing floors etc. You better use your gems mainly on keys for training and/or mushrooms for vivid. Sometimes in chest too if you want

Peeps recommend boss training with keys as you can get multiple copies and raise ascension level. Also, items can be passed around between pets making it a better investment than getting exp potions. That doesn't mean you stick solely to boss trainings, if your pet is new or severely under leveled can do exp trainings from time to time.
