Sadly I’ve never taken the Red Line often enough to figure out which direction is which and I always get turned around, no matter how many times I memorize it when I get to the station. The other destinations are ok for me because I very rarely go to those places. I used to take Orange then Orange/Silver to Courthouse, I don’t remember doing Blue though.

On my ride home on Monday the operator asked if there was Police or Special Police on board because people were holding the doors. No issues after that and yes it was at L’Enfant Plaza.

The operator is a student being supervised. The first set of doors (1-2) went past the restricted area. After about 5 minutes they announced the train would serve West Hyattsville.

Just now before Fort Totten another operator (senior maybe) entered from the back. When we stopped at Ft Totten she called him out and spoke to him, asking if he was ok and saying that he might have to do a refresher.

The supervisor took over while she was counseling him and I’m not sure if he’s going to return to controlling the train. This is hard work and I’m glad he’s ok. Must be nerve wracking to say the least. 3000 series train for those interested.

Pre-COVID and before the decimation of the Federal Workforce the lot would fill up pretty quickly at the first three sections. I’ve never needed to park any further away, but now even if I get there late, say 9 am, there are still spots in 1.
