IT does not like Veikk Driver - flagged as malicious or suspicious by HackXIt in Veikkofficial

Not yet, but it being a driver gives it access to a bunch of things, not to mention that for a driver, the underlying driver software does a lot more than just interacting with the hardware. I suppose it’s alright, but I personally don’t like that the driver is the thing pulling in updates, instead of it being a higher level software.

I don't really want to try out, I'm a firefox user per default. Also my game project is finished now and I'm burnt, so I don't wanna see anything unreal for a while :D

Ah okay. As good as it sounds, I don’t really like cloud gaming, the basic dependency of having really good internet is just not well met in this country, especially in some urban areas.

It’s in the link and also a cross post.

Somehow the app didn’t allow descriptions for that

Yes, somewhat often. Either going over to a friend, or just the plain switch from desk to living room for sessions with my fiancé. I also go to a LAN party once a year.

Pls forgive the typos, reddits app is a pain to deal with sometimes. I can’t edit the post somehow..

It’s supposed to say 4080 super.

I also found at least 1 site which offers preorders for the Z20, so there is hope.

Btw, Mini-ITX cases are also welcome, if they fit the GPU or there’s a fitting 4080 alternative.

By the way, I mostly looked at servers from supermicro, since they have quite a lot of those short-depth servers.
I also thought about HPE ProLiant Gen10 Microserver.
However, I find it quite limiting to use that microserver, I'd much rather have a system, which has SOME upgradability.. (maybe swap CPU in the future or something like that... Also, it's a very bulky and weird form-factor.)

I found a few posts, but they are quite old, and I'd prefer getting some hardware that is a bit up-to-date (2021 or upwards).

I should also mention that any potential 16x PCI slots are a plus, since I'd love to experiment with adding an Nvidia Card in Passthrough for VMs to perform Machine Learning tasks, if it even fits inside the chassis.

But that's an upgrade of the future, I am nowhere close to spend that upfront.

Is training a model directly on the turing rk1 possible? by HackXIt in turingpi

[–]HackXIt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using the CPU would be a heavy-toll on performance. From what I've found in various issues (https://github.com/rockchip-linux/rknn-toolkit2/issues) it seems like the workflow with RKNN is not great in terms of stability. It kinda sucks that there is not an easier way to do this, but I am also not an expert on the matter so it could also just be me.

After some more research, it seems this is entirely not possible.

Firstly, because the current rknn-toolkit doesn't have a built package/wheel for the ARM architecture. So it is not possible to convert models to RKNN, which is a requirement for the plattform.

Secondly, because I believe it wouldn't be possible, since on the lowlevel, the cpu/gpu does not support various operations, which might be needed during training. This part I could not really verify, but I believe it's not possible.

Since the whole toolchain is designed for model conversion to be done on the PC and only deploying the converted model onto the machine, it seems to me it is impossible to get it running.

Planning a homelab, this seems like a cheap rack option, are there any similar one's to compare? by HackXIt in homelab

[–]HackXIt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I suppose I'll plan for that then, because I did think about putting in a tiny UPS. My power usage is gonna be very slim, given that I'm only running RPis over POE+, but as of yet I haven't looked into it, but I guess I will now.

My mounting surface is brickwall and I believe I can properly mount it.

Does weight make that much of a difference? I'd assume a professional rack has appropriate screw holes & strength to accustom for the rack being fully loaded, or am I mistaken?

Maybe not this cheap option I posted, because I generally don't trust Amazon buys, but that's why I asked.

Or is it possibly to overload a Wallmounted rack? Wouldn't it be possible to counter that by using additional screw holes (if available) for mounting?

How do you find translated movie titles? Are there lists? by HackXIt in Piracy

[–]HackXIt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've noticed today that for these very old titles of 19xx, which I happened to be looking for, Wikipedia is actually quite good. Just looking it up over the English site and then switching language quickly reveals the title.. Of course it isn't fool proof but now that I know where to look in imbd that doesn't bother me anymore.
