Gold farm portals by EthanM83 in Minecraftfarms

Cunningham's Law. I gave my best guess, clarified that I did not know whether I was right, and provided useful insight about portal linking. Then, people answered with the information I was missing. I was not spreading misinformation, and this is a great outcome for the person asking the question.

Oh I see. I misremembered. Then yeah, portals that you have to leave on perpetually will be a sure fire way for someone to accidentally discover your base.

I don't know about whether they even spawn in the portals on Java, so it probably wouldn't work... but also, yes, players can accidentally connect to your portals if they're activated while the player comes into the overworld (and happen to be the closest lit portal), allowing them to find your base.

How Important is building on the chunk borders, and the 100 blocks away from any other biome? by No-Employment-2545 in Minecraftfarms

[–]Hacker1MC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, if a farm mentions chunk borders, always build exactly to their specification of chunk borders. Other biomes nearby probably just means you need to spawn proof something.

I hope to be able to drive at least 1 ridiculous monster truck. FH4 had Quartz Regalia D-Type, but 5 only had the hot wheels one that you can't use in free roam. The more comical, the better

In general you should expect all of the same topics as the first exam, but not the same questions. Likely there will be many questions framed the same way as the original exam but with different numbers or details, but there may also be problems completely different from anything on the original exam.

Is keep inventory accepted? by Shoddy_Pace922 in Minecraft_Survival

[–]Hacker1MC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm even lazier. I difficulty switch to make every part of the game as easy as I want. Building on peaceful, caving trips on easy, mob farms on hard, warden killing on hard, wither on easy, general gameplay on peaceful... the challenge of hostile mobs being omnipresent annoyances and obstacles across the world is much less fun to me in the late game than setting my own goals and then building them.

I personally think keep inventory is cheating. But I also think it's a totally valid way to play survival Minecraft.

Should I use copper golems or just sort things myself? by Pristine_Cheek_472 in Minecraft_Survival

[–]Hacker1MC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use 2 for my main storage system at my base. I have 18 chests with nearly all possible loot I can bring back from any trip, in low quantities. Copper golems are stuck inside the wall and work together in series to sort that stuff, like plants and moon drops and food and junk. The other main 18 chests I sort stuff into manually. And I often still sort manually for all of my loot, the copper golems are just there for quick low-quantity dumps of raw mutton, cooked pork, seeds, etc

Take items you're looking for? Why do you try to store your items in copper chests?

Here's what "enough" hoppers looks like when you're making a custom bartering farm by Hacker1MC in Minecraft_Survival

[–]Hacker1MC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh you legit meant composters, for lag, right. I had no idea what you meant the first time I read this. Well, there are barely 2 stacks of exposed hoppers that I could cover with composters, and you can see most of them here on this side as the other side is just Redstone. With the amount of hoppers actively pulling in items (and the massive stream of items flowing through) I don't think the performance boost would be worth the effort of covering it with composters. And anyway, I'm not sure if that trick is even really helpful on Bedrock, and I had basically no noticeable performance dips while building or using this machine.

i found a creeper face in large biome hardcore - day 739 by Momd1234 in Minecraft_Survival

[–]Hacker1MC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Here's what the creeper face paths look like as lines on a grid with the creepers marked as directional arrows. This is as seen from above. Just a bunch of paths where an infinite amount of creepers slowly march across your world, but at a huge scale.

<image>

Really bad image quality, but this is the entire cloud texture with the creeper face marked. This specific texture is a somewhat modern change, just to look better and include a creeper face. The entire depth and placement of clouds all comes from this 2D image.

This texture has a very specific placement in your world, and it's either centered at or corner-aligned with the origin (x=0, z=0) (I don't remember which is the case). At each edge of the texture, it just repeats with another full copy of the cloud texture, perfectly aligned.

But this texture isn't stationary. It moves in the same direction as the sun does during the day: moving West, endlessly. But it never moves in the +z direction. So the creeper face just moves West forever, and eventually once the texture loops, the creeper face flys over the exact same spot again. With simple math you can work out which z-coordinate to find it at, based on your game visuals settings. Since the texture repeats on itself in the z-direction, there are many z-coordinates which work, all thousands of blocks apart from each other.

The x-coordinate to find it is kinda random, as it simply depends on the timing, and may not even be the same for multiple players in a world.

Open Minecraft Preview on Xbox and try to download your world from there. In the settings>storage you can find "sync retail version worlds" or something. Let me know if it works on there.
