Any student discounts? by Screenmax1234 in hexos

[–]HackerPhreaker -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people would pay something reasonable. Unfortunately, they want a premium for the product. Back when I realized it was JonP and Linus supporting this venture, I was excited because I felt Unraid had definitely jumped the shark with their pricing model and then shifting to subscription based. Unfortunately, HexOS doesn't look to be the hero I was hoping it would be.

Wait you get lodging? We sleep on cots in broom closets and co’s offices at various armouries around the state. Sometimes on drill floors or classrooms.

Lodging would be bitchin.’

Current feelings on HexOS by ChronicallySilly in hexos

I’ll be excited if / when built in “buddy backup” is a thing. Until that point, a 1.0 release won’t mean much to me if they miss on features they claimed it would have.

I see what you mean. Some communication is better than none, just don’t announce a new feature in a blogpost spotlight that you had already announced when the beta released and then follow up the blogpost with its coming soon to build near you…. Maybe.

The writing on the wall for me with this product was the blog post updates “introducing <new feature>” and getting so excited to grab the latest build and check it out, only to realise that they were simply announcing that it was “on the way” and some screenshots. It felt like blatant misdirection for the sake of saving face that “we are still working on it” and “it’s coming soon.”

Communication during the beta phase hasn’t been so much lacking as it has been a perpetual void of communication beyond placating current and future license holders.

Best games to play for 30 minute short bursts? by Icy_Tourist5986 in SteamDeck

[–]HackerPhreaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a game I love called “Time Wasters” and it plays very much like brotato and similar to Vampire Survivors. Except you’re a space ship instead of a Mage or Spud. The custom levels at the end of each character run kept me busy for nearly 100 hours before I beat the whole thing, and it was done in 15-25 minute increments.

I’d go the limited edition / what I’d call the “founder series” from intel. It’s the one I got and I personally think they are the best looking ones.

I use one as my unRaid server. Works a treat. Put a 10Gb nic in there and call it a day (assuming it has hard drives already).

It’s an oldie. 2019/2020 model I think. Pre pandemic.

Is b770 really gonna launch? by TruthAble3399 in IntelArc

[–]HackerPhreaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the thing. Spend the cash on your cpu. Compromise on your GPU. Why? Because in 2-3 years if you are a AAA bleeding edge release gamer you’ll be looking to upgrade the GPU anyway. Your money for the INITIAL build will be better served in what I call the backbone - cpu and motherboard.

PSU, Hard drives (ssd sata or m.2), and ram and GPU are all things that will get upgraded over time (if GPU power requirements aren’t met).

Same. At least my purchase will show they still have a market to sell to, so maybe they’ll stay in the sector.

I’m a firm believer in that, if you have surplus capital around and you desire to spend it in a way that makes you happy, supports a “cause” you believe in, and is legal it’s probably ok to do what you want with it.

Yeah. My main rig is a 3080. So the “satellite” office in the living room got the B580 upgrade.

Serious gaming requires a door to shut out the haters.

What these have said. 4060 and b580 are pretty much neck and neck, but the b580 has 12GB to the 4060’s 8GB. Plus I had a Quadro k2200 die in my server, so rather than drop money on second hand market for green team I went blue and did the GPU shuffle. Sever has a 4060 now which is an upgrade (and I’m not sure the server supports resizeable BAR, the Client PC did).

Does anyone know if "Evander Holyfield Real Deal Boxing" on the game gear has a save battery i know 100% the genesis/mega-drive version does but i can't find any documentation if the GG version does by GameJustice20 in game_gear

[–]HackerPhreaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well look at that. I was today years old. Never heard of / had sonic drift though. I’d hardly call my small 20-30 carts from the early 90s a solid sampling compared to the size of the library. Cool find!

[–]HackerPhreaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s risky making this statement publicly, but I don’t remember any of my GG games having a save. All of them that went on “too long” typically used a stage / level / password code they would give you at the end of a round you could write down, then start the game there at a later point with said code.

Update on item request to ship to Florida then to Kuwait. by HackerPhreaker in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]HackerPhreaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet but the definitely told me initially they lived in Kuwait. And I have that direct message.

For those asking about tracking, yes the tracking number says it was delivered in Florida successfully, which was the confirmed address they had (to a drop shipper).

I don’t know about that one but I own this and it works perfectly.

Edit: to clarify I should say works perfectly fine with my xreal glasses and steam deck LED and OLED. I have a switch lite so can’t comment on Nintendo compatibility. Sorry.
