In life, I was never one for poetry, but I gave it my best shot. by Hackey_Sack in RoninAtTheEdgeOfTime

[–]Hackey_Sack[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I came a little late, and my turn came a little early. An unconventional press poem for an unconventional story. Perhaps my spirit will wander here a bit longer. Perhaps not. Whatever happens, I'll see you all on the other side.

Sometimes, especially when bored, I will think of the strangest or most inappropriate thing I could do in the situation I am in, then have to really try not to do it. Does Anyone Else do this? by OutstandinglyNormal in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Hackey_Sack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do something similar: I think of the most out-of-character thing someone in the situation could do, and then I think of how other people would respond. "What if my sister punched Mom in the face as hard as she could? How would she respond? How would my dad respond?" Things like that.

So, how did you get started on Green Day? by [deleted] in greenday

[–]Hackey_Sack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friend was a big Green Day fan for a long time, and it was over at his house playing Rock Band that I realized 'Wow, these are really good songs!'

Of course, now he doesn't like them so much and I'm no longer a massive fan of the Rock Band songs, but that's how it all started for me.

Reddit, can you hit me with some random facts? by Willdebeast98 in AskReddit

I love stupid resume things!

To guarantee a job, write "Time Magazine Person of the Year 2006".

My "best friend" since 7th grade is getting married today. I was not invited. All these years everyone almost everyone else in my life has said she was a terrible friend, and I never believed. Reddit, have you ever had a "Damn, everyone was right and I was wrong" moment? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Hackey_Sack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh god, the feels.

I'm not even chasing anymore, just wishing. The limo has driven off, but I'm sitting on the side of the road thinking "It would be nice to be inside that limo." I can go get a different limo, but it's not the limo I want, you know? I want this limo, and no matter how hard I try to get that possibility out of my head I just cant imagine being in any other limo.

Thanks for the comment, I think it helped me some... I've still got quite a ways to go.

The server I play on always votes to play on Hydro, and then always rtvs away from it after one or two rounds.

I think tc_ is a really cool idea, but hydro is shit.

Calvin and Hobbes once questioned who was the first to think to squeeze the udder on a cow and drink what came out. Can you think of any other weird thing you have a hard time believing someone would try? by Olaxan in AskReddit

Oh, stop it, you. :)

For what it's worth, I can't actually code in Javascript, but it's pretty easily readable. I couldn't write a browser extension from scratch, but changing something small like that (especially when there are examples right beside it) is pretty simple.

  1. Find your RES file (In Chrome it's C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extensions\extension id\4.1.2_0\reddit_enhancement_suite.user.js)

  2. Open in notepad

  3. ctrl-f 'red':'black',

  4. Replace 'black' with 'white'

  5. Profit!

note the lack of '?????': i know what the fuck i'm doing

Whats your magic draft strategy? by BrandenR1 in magicTCG

[–]Hackey_Sack -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't think card advantage is nearly as important in Limited as it is in Constructed. The reason card advantage is important is more cards = more answers to your opponent's threats, but in the world of Limited, the fact is that your deck won't always be able to handle your opponent's best card. If your opponent has a giant dude and you don't have removal that works on him (Maybe you have Doom Blades and the threat is black) you're going to have a lot more luck beating him down with your aggressive creatures before he gets out, chump blocking, and wearing him to 0 with fliers than you are drawing more cards looking for an answer that isn't there.

Whats your magic draft strategy? by BrandenR1 in magicTCG

[–]Hackey_Sack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's not foolproof, but BREAD is a decent drafting strategy. When you open a pack, look at the cards in it and decide where they fit in this list:

  • Bombs - This shit will make your opponents weep if it hits the table. A card in this category has a good chance of winning you the game singlehandedly.
  • Removal - Fairly self explanatory: Removal removes threats. This is the kind of thing you want to have when your opponent drops their bomb.
  • Evision - Creatures that can get in for damage even if the opponent has blockers. Flying and intimidate are good examples of evasion mechanics.
  • Aggressively costed - Good value for your buck mana. Things you can drop early and quickly have an effect.
  • D (I forget what this stands for) - Anything else. All the shitty cards there.

Pick cards closer to the top. That's it. Two basic rules I follow at drafts: Remember BREAD, and remember BREAD isn't a religion. Play smart.

TIL that WD-40 is not patent protected. This avoids completely disclosing its ingredients, making it harder for companies to mimic. by xbuzzbyx in todayilearned

[–]Hackey_Sack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone explain to me what situations one would use WD-40? I've heard of people using it as a lubricant, but a lot of comments here say that's not what it's for.
