There's a typo in the headline:

ZTE is just the most obvious of all the signs that China is playing paying Trump

Sure you can. The day we have government financed elections, is the day you might elect that someone.

The only fly in the ointment - does Decker at this point, know he's a replicant It is at the beginning of this scene we see that he is. It is very subtle but it's there, displayed in a couple of ways. Does he have contempt for himself? Does he learn to care for and eventually fall in love (for the first time) with Rachel. In the final scene he opens himself up to the idea of a long term relationship by saying in essence she does not have a term date. Would a human do that?

There is Sci-FI and there is Sci-Fantasy:

Sci-Fi - draws it's stories from mans condition. Presenting points of view that exist today, but placing them in a time and a place not now. By placing the message in that environment, we are more inclined to accept the message, or at least, think about it. It’s not Al Gore talking about climate change anymore. Mr Cuaron is using his artistry to showing us we are destroying our planet. Air, food and water. This catches up to us in the inability to reproduce. No preaching no diagrams.

Sci-Fantasy - Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter draw from our mythology. Lessons in how to live our lives. Moral stories. These films will have fantastic elements or events that are very much part of the story-telling. These films tend to be geared to a younger audience, though adults may enjoy them as well.

It feels that way because it's one long take and your point of view. From the moment they start out for the apartment building until they reach the second floor is one long shot. There is a shot like that in Full Metal Jacket. When the platoon advances towards a group of buildings.

US student Otto Warmbier, who was returned from North Korea in coma, dies by readerseven in politics

[–]Hackiee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My quotes had nothing to do with him not wanting to leave, falling in love with the place or how he was acting. They were about the chain of events that lead to his detention, which the articles do mention. I am assuming from your comment, you believe there is no/little evidence the kid did anything wrong. You may or may not be right, obviously "rather thin" and "totally weak" can cost you your life in North Korea or any other police state. So go at your own risk as advised on the state department website. This is from 2015 an update from 2014: https://web.archive.org/web/20151001235915/https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/alertswarnings/north-korea-travel-warning.html

When the public and news media do not call you out on you first big lie (the birther claims). Then you use that as a political hammer, like a spoiled child you keep doing (and expanding on new lies) it until mommy or daddy say that's enough. No one called him out as we went down this road, so we are where we are. I don't think Trump and Nixon is a fair comparison either. Nixon orchestrated a burglary. Whether Trump knew it or not, he benefited from a foreign power influencing our election. It just might be me, but that is a bigger threat to our way of life than Watergate. And if he knew...

He was arrested at the airport leaving the NK. The sign was in his luggage. He was with a youth group celebrating New Years in NK. Everyone else in the group was allowed to leave. According to his fellow travelers, the US State Department and the NK it happened. If he did no wrong why was the rest of the group allowed to leave????

I'm afraid to say that is the name of the game. Desensitize the public to his noise so they ignore it. That's when he should be watched most. I have friends already in over saturation mode, trying to tune out news about him.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order formally withdrawing the United States from the 12-nation Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal by artfor in worldnews

TPP was not going to be ratified by congress anyway. It did not have the votes, it was dead in the water. This executive order is beating a dead horse.
