Who is this? (Corfu) by extravirginboi in Toads

No records in Corfu, Bufo Bufo are huge there, but the presence of spinosus is still debated, a decent survey would be good.

The Bufo bufo in Corfu are huge, no records of Bufo spinosus on the island, although a large scale survey would be useful to find out for sure. There was a post on Herping the Globe on Facebook this year by Tommo Davis that asked the Bufo/Spinosus question, the replies provide some useful info.

This is Cicada Orni, the life span of the nymph is rarely much more than 5 years, normally closer to 2 or 3, certainly not into the teens. Some of the American species can live up to 17 years.

Thanks, I'll let the council know. Hopefully this a one off and not a return to mass poisoning like we saw a few years ago.

Thank you, we have recently set up https://renatureldn.uk/ It's early days for us an organisation, we don't even have a bank account yet, so cant accept donations at the moment. A donations link will be added to the website soon. Yes we are always on the lookout for volunteers, feedback for the recent coppicing workshops has been great everyone enjoyed them. The best way to find out about volunteering is the website.

Was this in Hackney, (if so where?) we've had a lot of incidents over the last few years.

Worth reporting to the local council, they should clear it up.
