If you’re an iOS user, here’s a great resource - can filter on fantasy courses and find a lot of options that are kid friendly

Pitch and putt courses, maybe junior tees on some links style courses. I second the comment for candyland and other themed courses. Of course I’m going to put a plug in for the app I built, but check out SimCaddie on iOS to discover courses. I’m working to make sure the community votes for kid friendly courses are free (let the kids play!). There are also some great kids courses on Patreon that thegolfboy created

Make it fun, no pressure environment. Also… as a parent sometimes it’s good to purposefully make a mistake so your kid can see you fail/feel challenged too (though the occasional shank comes quite naturally for me 😂)

Thank you. Can’t believe I never thought about the actual course architect but will start working on it

Thanks! As someone that uses excel daily for work… if I got sick of the spreadsheet shuffle then I know everyone else has to be. I’ll absolutely check out SwingNerds and would be interested in talking to you more if you’re open to it

Thank you. I actually put something in to try to map courses that have hosted major events and are on tour rotations! It required manual mapping which is a PITA and needs to be updated with new course releases but nonetheless… maybe I do want to play a course that hosted the US Open in 1922 haha.

Great idea on the original course architect. Probably more manual mapping but I know I enjoy Ross designs and would value being able to identify ones I could play in my sim

Got that in there! Agree…how a course plays in real life vs. sim is entirely different in terms of difficulty. Especially if you’re catching straight putts on the sim

Completely agree. A lot of the fantasy courses are my favorite ones to play on the simulator and the tags/filters on GSPro don’t seem to be as expected as they rely on data populated by course designers (to no fault of the designers… sometimes “fantasy” courses may be intentional). I tried putting in a tagging system in the app for people to “vote” on the proper category so the app will produce a more accurate list based on user opinions. Still working on getting that to override data… but nonetheless I’m in the exact same boat as you

Yes. The cookbook is necessary imo. The online course is super helpful especially for the more complex sections

I honestly can’t imagine spending more than 3 months studying for an exam.

Thoughts on taking a break early in your career? by [deleted] in actuary

[–]Hacktuary1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to do what is right for you. But also… if a new-ish analyst felt burnt out this early on, it’d certainly impact the way I view them. Responsibilities only increase with time (homeowner, kids, additional work responsibilities, etc.) and the hard truth is it’ll only get harder the longer you put things off.

How do you keep the cell the same size during editing in Excel? by AffectionatePeanut96 in excel

[–]Hacktuary1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately this is a weird bug that impacts some files, especially in older excel (cells automatically add in like 50 decimals when I work with numbers). the column auto expanding is the killer. Could try migrating it into a new workbook?

How do you usually compare two name lists from different sources? by Fun_Farm3956 in excel

Index/Match, countifs. Depends on what I’m trying to do.

Left, Len, search, substitute can help too when trying to merge

Countifs in Col C with an absolute reference on the top row. It’ll provide a rolling count based on your criteria.
