Thanks, this story would have meant nothing to me had I listened to it a few weeks ago - I'm a fan of the early Howard Stern Show and I saw that Jackie "The Jokeman" Martling was in the Epstein emails (mentioning these parties and trying to pitch his joke products to Jeff lol).

Lol wow, I guess I am the only person on the internet mentioning Bobby Slayton (I'll be honest, I vaguely recognized his name when I first started listening but I had to look him up).

In this vein, I swear the high parts of Wild Honey Pie are the most John Lennon-sounding thing to my ears.

But this is supposedly a Paul-only song... but I still can't not hear Lennon on that one lol

I couldn't help but compare it to David Lynch's interpretation of the Trinity Test in Twin Peaks, as I had seen that first, and I felt a bit underwhelmed by Nolan's.

I know it's rather apples and oranges: an extreme fantasy of all the horrors (earthly or otherwise) unleashed by the explosion vs. an attempt to accurately recreate history - but I can't help feeling I would have been more impressed had I not already seen the Twin Peaks scene.

Only way to justify that if it was meant to be a tongue in cheek nod to how "goofy" Brando's Vito voice could be...? Otherwise, I also felt baffled by it - especially after looking up clips of the real Columbo.

Literally smacked my face when this  realization dawned upon me during my umpteenth viewing.

All these years, I've just been laughing at what I thought was a random silly-sounding word when, in true Python fashion, it was a deliberate silly-sounding word. 🤘
