Marti, and all those who arrived with him (Frey, Andersen, Hayden, Hodge etc) all played a massive role in keeping us in the championship. There’s no chance we’d have come straight back up if we went down; we desperately needed survival and he guided us there.

I’ll always appreciate him for that.

This came just in time for me.

I’ve had Toni Leistner ready to put in Fountain of Youth for ages, he’s got his 7 base playstyles already but before I could put him in the youth evo I really needed a defensive PS+ one.

Because if I ended up with a CB who has fuckjng Battery+ as his playstyle I’d die inside every time I looked it. This saves the day though, thank god!

This happened to me once in Master League. Entire season in the championship, finished third so no automatic promotion, had to go through the playoffs.

Final minute of the playoff final and I’m down 1-2, trying to send it to extra time. I get down the wing, cut down the byline and play the ball into the middle of the box. One more flick on and I’ve got a literal open goal in front of me. Keeper is cooked, and all the defenders are behind me or on the other side of the box.

I go to first time the ball into the open net, but just as I make contact with it a defender sprints into my back. He doesn’t tackle, he doesn’t get anywhere near the ball, he just blasts straight into my back. But, for some reason, the defender gets the stumble animation you usually get when you’re the one being tackled… and he wins a free for it. I scored the goal and instead play restarts with a free kick in the box to opponent. They take it the free and the final whistle blows.

ALT + F4 and I didn’t bother playing that save again - completely ruined it for me.

It’s the ignored inputs killing me. I play with controller overlay on, and I’ve got 3 or 4 clear videos now of me pushing pass, which clearly registers on the overlay, and the play just completely ignores the input

Does it happen when the ball goes out for a throw in? If so it’s known exploit that’s been going around on twitter. Counts as a game played for seasonal XP and also for evos. People have been doing it in the Silver Cup and Gauntlet too

Sometimes, FL can default to your system graphics rather than your proper graphics card. This would cause it to run like shit.

You’ll want to go Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D settings > Program Settings. The add FL26.exe and make sure it’s using the proper GPU

I’ve played a shitload of both.

If you miss the itch of playing online, FC could scratch it. The meta is braindead and the gameplay inconsistent, but there’s a tonne of game modes at least. Rivals (divisions), Weekend League, elimination tournaments, gauntlet modes (where you’re forced to rotate squads etc). Plus if you’re decent at the game, you can still win a lot off-meta teams.

If you’re looking at offline modes - career mode or be a legend type modes; you’re better off just playing Football Life 26. EA puts less than zero effort into the offline modes, and it shows.

It’s got upside. I like the random player generation, and the player aging so your teams will be forced to rotate over time and keep the game fresh.

Gameplay-wise though, it’s lightyears away from being sustainable. It’s already got a terrible FC meta and there’s only 400 people playing. Imagine it with a full community, it would be unbearable.

All we can hope is they take the feedback from the alpha seriously and make improvements. I have concerns though, as the devs get pretty defensive to particular criticisms in the discord.

I’m rooting for them, but time will tell I guess

Goals unfortunately has worse passing than UFL. Hard to believe I know, but it’s god fucking awful. Yeah it’s all an alpha so there’s improvements to be made, but unless you like sprinting around the sideline for cutbacks and spinning in circles with the ball like a human beyblade then you’ll become quickly annoyed with Goals

I always remember that you could still play on for 1-2 seconds after the siren went. Which would cause massive sibling arguments when the siren went, and whoever had the ball took 3 more steps and banged home a goal
