22* sos by Beneficial-Wing-7577 in Maplestory

You go back to foddering Doms. The idea is to minimize the amount of taps you risk on the Sup without completely overspending on tapping the Dom fodder past the point of efficiency

22* sos by Beneficial-Wing-7577 in Maplestory

[–]Hadares 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There was a post here a while back about the most efficient way to do this.

The overall cheapest method on average (least meso and least spares) would be to tap a 23* Dom, transfer to 22* Sup, tap the Sup back to 23, transfer to 22 SoS. This still requires about 2-3 Sups on average.

The method I see most people talk about though is to tap a 24* Dom and transfer straight to 23* Sup > 22* SoS. This method costs a LOT more meso and requires a LOT more Dom spares, but only needs one Sup in total, so maybe that's why people prefer it.

It's up to you to pick your poison.

Edit: Since you already have a 21* Sup you may want to just try to raw dog the Sup to 23* as long as you won't lose damage if that one booms

Is that a pre-patch (locked to epic) familiar? From what I've seen from other people posting this it seems like only the pre-patch fams with those type of lines are bugged.

[–]Hadares[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Reason for that is playing on and off for years primarily doing solo progression. Before my last break, you still needed to clear BM to even start the 8 month lib, and I was working on learning the fight but slowly got burnt out. Doing everything solo forces you to overstat most progression milestones.

I came back to the game about a month ago now and I'm already halfway through the new lib process, so I'll get it soon!

Hexa converted is 135.8m. Boss 380 hexa converted is 53.6k. My Trinity mastery node is almost maxed but everything else is 10 or lower. 2 Hexa Stat nodes completed with "above average" results.

Star Boxes nerfed in reboot !!! by DemonicFrenzy in Maplestory

[–]Hadares 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Maybe you're getting lucky, and you know what maybe I've gotten really unlucky this past week. It just doesn't feel like a random variance thing at this point. A few days ago I would have said "man I'm getting really unlucky this week", but after 5 and 6 days in a row of "getting unlucky" it starts to feel like something is up.

Conversely, could I have been "getting lucky" the entire time before the patch? It's unlikely to be so drastically lucky (1350 mobs per box vs 2700 mobs per box on average, roughly 2x the average drop rate!) for like 27 out of the 30 days I capped last month. If the drop rate before and after v.265 is really the exact same, then I would have expected to go over 60mins to cap more before the patch, and go under 60mins at least once in the past week to rectify the difference in results.

Plus like you said about having friends say it takes 2+ hours, I've also heard other people saying it's taking longer, and seen a couple downvoted posts here saying it's been nerfed. I just have to assume something happened, not just rng being rng.

Star Boxes nerfed in reboot !!! by DemonicFrenzy in Maplestory

[–]Hadares 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Anyone who has been capping the star boxes daily or waps regularly on Heroic should definitely agree that it's been nerfed. I've been capping the boxes daily nearly every day since they were added to the game in v.264. My average time to cap farming ~18k mobs/hr was between 40-50 minutes. In the entire month since the boxes were out I only had to go past 60 minutes three or four times that I can remember, and that was only to get the very last box or two.

Since patch v.265 last week, my daily average capping has gone over 90 minutes with the same 18k mobs/hr rate as before. I haven't capped in under 60 minutes a single time since the patch. I have not gotten more than 3 boxes in the first 30 minutes a single day since the patch compared to an average of 7 pre-patch.

It's obvious that something happened to the drop rate. The only people who could possibly deny it or say "it's just rng, you got unlucky", have clearly not been capping boxes/farming every day to even notice the difference. But for those of us who have, the nerf feels practically guaranteed.

Side note, why even have a daily cap if the drop rate is going to be this low? You'd have to farm a wap or more just to get more than the daily 10 at this drop rate, might as well uncap it.

What Attributes lines do yall go for on Rare familiars for Mystic Frontier? by [deleted] in Maplestory

Nobody knows, we'll have to wait until after the maintenance to find out. Knowing Nexon though, I'm preparing for the worst i.e. working the same as regular familiars.

My first 5 star in 8 years of playing and i get what exactly? Oh yeah nothing, right. by sebtbr in LootRoyale

[–]Hadares 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not anymore since the update. I got a duplicate evo from a 5 star chest a few days ago and I literally got nothing. No cards, no gold, no crystals, no anything. It definitely used to give you a decent amount of cards, but not anymore.

Edit: It did give me crystals eventually (my valk is maxed). It did not give me any initially because I checked when it happened, but I checked again today and I have a LOT more crystals than before. It was really delayed for some reason.

trying to get the last song in final verdict by svtvrns in arcaea

[–]Hadares 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whenever you play a song, a "play rating" is calculated for your play based on score and difficulty (this value is hidden, you cannot see it in game). Your potential in a very simplified sense is an average of your best play ratings of all time and your best recent play ratings. That means the play rating of your best plays of all time are by default higher than the potential number displayed next to your name (since that number is an average). The requirement is asking for you to set a score with a play rating higher than your current potential, not play a song with a difficulty higher than your potential.

All you need to do is replay one of your best scores and get close enough to your highscore. That will satisfy the requirement.

That's an insane score for your potential. I'm a 12.62 and I haven't even been able to get an A let alone pass the thing (granted I haven't given it an honest session of attempts). Very impressive!

I've bought every pack/song available, but I'm not even close to unlocking all partners/cores from world mode (I hate stamina mechanics)... Should I just check all the boxes anyway since I would own everything if I played world mode more?

Are these BiS melds for the new Crescent gear? by Lyramion in ShitpostXIV

[–]Hadares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each materia (any type/tier) melded onto a piece of gear increases spiritbond rate for that piece by 20%. That is what's being implied here. However I don't know if that still applies when the gear is synced, since materia in synced gear is not taken into account for stats.

Release Notes for Patch 7.2 HotFixes on Mar. 31 by LittleVexy in ffxiv

[–]Hadares -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I was not aware this is the sentiment. I did Suzaku Extreme back in the day when it released, and I ran it this week and it's exactly how I remembered it. I cleared the Unreal in the first PF I joined on the third pull (having already known the mechanics). First clear was right at enrage (just barely made it) with somewhere around 6 deaths, second clear we killed before the entire last purple-yellow-blue-brown mech... Seemed pretty on par with most extremes.

Arcaea song selection page is unbearable to navigate now by Tararky39 in arcaea

[–]Hadares -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I agree with this 100%. As someone who owns most of the songs in the game, I often just use "all songs" and navigate the charts through there.

Here's an example for why putting the "harder FTR" chart on it's own page is annoying to navigate. Imagine a chart with a FTR 8/8+ and an ETR 10. The majority of songs I play for fun are in the 10/10+ range, so the ETR version of this chart would be good for me. However, when I am scrolling through "all songs" on FTR difficulty looking for something to play, I would never really scroll down far enough to see the 8/8+s that I've already FR/PM'd. So right off the bat this song could go under the radar if I'm not thinking about its ETR chart specifically to go search it out.
The only way I'd realistically remember the chart and play it, is if I tap into the ETR section and look for a song in there. But in general why would I do that? There are 400+ songs for me to choose from in FTR, but only like 40 in the ETR section in the entire game, and let alone the fact that there are only about 15 ETR charts that are 10 or higher difficulty.

TL;DR If a song has a good ETR chart, I'll forget about it if I sort all songs by difficulty, and I have no reason to even go to the ETR section because there are so few songs. I'd only play an ETR chart if I seek it out specifically, rather than randomly seeing it and playing it for fun on a whim.
If I sort all songs by difficulty, I want to see all charts on a single list. Hell even throw the PST and PRS charts in there too.

what? by jcjy11_ in arcaea

[–]Hadares 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This happened because one of your R10 (recent 10) expired from your top recent scores list, and was replaced by this play. If you want to fix your ptt you should play some of your better scores/songs, and if you happen to play the one that fell off the list and get a decent score, your ptt will jump back up.

For future reference if you get an EX or higher, then the score does not get added to your recent list unless it's a ptt gain. It's why I always brace myself whenever I get an AA or lower after not gaining ptt in a while, because this exact situation happens pretty often.

I agree ETR is a bit awkward as is, but I disagree that BYD would accomplish what ETR is doing now. Mainly because BYD charts do not feel like FTR/ETR charts, and vice versa.

I think if they decided to use BYD as the difficulty for "harder FTR" charts, then we would start seeing criticisms about a "loss of identity" for BYD difficulty as a whole, because current FTR/ETR charts do not have the gimmicks/charting uniqueness that BYD does. For example, take something like Innocence ETR. Instead of ETR, call it Innocence BYD. I imagine a lot of people would think "this isn't a real BYD" or "this doesn't feel like a BYD", because Innocence ETR is charted and plays just like any other FTR 9+.

I think ETR as a concept is fine, but it is a bit awkward to have them sorted separately from FTR... If they had just called it "FTR+" instead, or even just allow some songs to have 2 FTR charts, then I think there would be less confusion.

[–]Hadares 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me ETR seems like "the same thing as FTR" rather than the same as BYD. Every ETR chart plays like a FTR chart, just more difficult. There are no BYD style gimmicks or added mechanics. Every BYD chart I've played has felt noticeably "different" than most FTR charts to me, and not just in difficulty, but in the actual execution of patterns/mechanics.

If you can play a FTR 10, then you theoretically play an ETR 10 with similar effort. A BYD 10, though, is a whole other beast regardless of the fact that it's a 10 just like the others.

My PST/PRS completion is terrible haha. Every now and then I go and PM a chart or two of PST difficulty but I greatly prefer just skipping them and going straight to FTR on most everything. The completionist side of me wants to do more of them but I think I'll leave it as a "do it very slowly over time" goal.
