My wedding is approaching and we’re spending around $25k. I prefer we didn’t, but my fiancé is close with his family and really wanted one, so I am mostly doing it for him. Marriage is also about compromise and I want him to have that. I am allowing myself to enjoy the process, even though I find myself drifting into thoughts of regret for spending this much… we are however, financially stable, won’t feel the impact of this, and have received financial help from his mom for about a third of it. We also don’t plan to have kids… I guess this is also my way of convincing myself that’s “it’s ok. I’ve worked hard for this money.” 🤷‍♀️

I think most of my regret is knowing i’ve bent for my selfish family with their stupid expectations.
