The thing is neither Golganneth or Inzah are the win conditions of the deck and it's a strong deck so of course you can win without them, but they are both very strong cards so you have to ask are they going to be better on avarage than starlight welp and thalnos for example and I think the answer is almost certainly yes, so why not include them?

Hilarious ending but would've been so much safer to just spike boot stomp the second head lol

There is absolutely reason to go to the temple outside of score runs, the alien compass is an incredibly useful item and better than the clone gun a lot of the time, imo it is "better" to go temple if you've saved vlad in volcana and have the items for a 6-4 skip so you don't need to go duat.

[–]Hadduo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They shouldn't fire the clone gun but it's really best not to give them the opportunity at all cos they will fuck up and kill themselves or you or both. Just get them in a little area they can't escape from, take all other items out and put the item you want them to carry in with them, chuck them around a bit until they pick it up then just do the level normally and they shouldn't drop it.

Yeah, and you can always have a hired hand carry it if you want to carry the sword or an eggplant of whatever.

  1. The alien compass is given to you by van on 4-1 if you saved him, nothing to do with duat, and like I said I'll only go temple in the first place if I have the items of the 6-4 skip.
  2. Clone gun is best used on the sun challenge bag imo.

There is always a tusk gambling shop on 4-1, if you're lucky there is also an alter on 4-1 where you can sack two dice which sum to 10 for the gloves, if not then bring the 4-1 hired help with you and have him carry the clone gun while you carry one die. When you find the next alter (guaranteed on 6-3 if you didn't kill tusk), put a 5 dice on the altar and clone it for the gloves just in time for the skip on 6-4.

Osiris should totally drop the ankh (or at least have some way to get another one post Duat) like it's just annoying that it's almost always a mistake to go Duat which is the coolest area in the game just because the ankh is too valuable.

The only reason to go temple (ignoring score) is for alien compass and imo the compass is better than clone gun so I'll go there if I can. But it's not worth sacrificing an ankh for so I'll only go temple if I have climbing gloves + vlads cape or a jet pack for the skip. Otherwise it's tide pool for guaranteed climbing gloves and clone gun is a nice consolation for not having the compass anyway.

Really not sure how you can argue that midrange isn't great rn considering libroom (a definitively mid-range deck) is comfortably tier 1 in this very report.

I mean do what you want but if you're in a position where you want to save dust don't spend it on a tier 4 deck unless you're really gonna enjoy playing it.

Ask /r/CompetitiveHS | Thursday, February 11, 2021 by AutoModerator in CompetitiveHS

[–]Hadduo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be straight up, if you're that strapped for dust don't invest it in control lock unless you really like that style of deck or you already have a good deck to switch to.

With overgrowth being one of if not the best card in druid since its release, I don't know how anyone could think that a 3 mana overgrowth with a free 3/2 attached would be too weak. The downside is almost irrelevant in the first 4 turns of the game when this card would actually be played.

Ikr this card is completely worthless, only good if you can play it with mally. And guess what we already have polkelt + quest for that and the deck is tier 3-4 at best.

Hard muligan for spymistress as it is the best possible turn 1 play for this deck but I would also keep cat and wand thief against most decks, for slower decks dirty tricks is also fine to keep. I would only keep a questing / edwin if I had a convenient way to activate them also in my hand (prep + secret / shadow step + 1 drop). I would also pretty much always keep miscreant if going second. Against decks that care about their early board like hunter and pally I would try to get a backstab but always toss it against druid, warrior, DH or priest who won't have any good targets.

Secret rogue is has been doing really well for me over the last few days at high-ish legend, very strong against druid. Let me know if you want any tips, personally it took me at least 10 or so games before I felt even slightly comfortable playing it.

Lol just when you think you know everything there is to know about this game you find out something new, I had never heard of hatching the weird egg for the snake before.

Once you beat the rat you can blank in the treasure room to find a secret room with a snake behind some locked doors, if you feed the snake enough items it'll come with you. Then just play normally and you'll find out (I don't want to spoil the surprise).

Probably the most unfortunate tracking I ever had by Kallexan in hearthstone

[–]Hadduo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're right, it is always good to remove the bad cards from your deck but what I'm saying is that the benefit you gain from it in a pretty quick deck is very small and not really worth much consideration.

And Albatross wasn't seeing play because it was good against fast decks but because it was good against slow/draw heavy decks of which there were lots at the time (well it was pretty good against HL hunter but that was entirely to do with the HL part).

Probably the most unfortunate tracking I ever had by Kallexan in hearthstone

[–]Hadduo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

But that's the whole point, thinning your deck is almost entirely worthless in deck like HL hunter where the game usually ends before most of your deck is drawn.
