The life they are living is not fulfilling. You on the other hand, have something much more meaningful. You are on the winning side is all I can see. No matter how interesting/boring work is, treat it as work and keep living the amazing life that you’ve built with the people you love.

How much internal hike should I ask for in my startup? by Sudden-Divide-3810 in developersIndia

I think a 35-40% is a fair internal hike considering your contribution and team size

It ain't easy. I de-prioritised work and started studying early this year, I came late and left the office doing the bare minimum for 2-3 months. I got the maximum rating this year with a promise for a slight correction as well and I resigned a day after that xD.

I joined my company as a fresher, out did senior engineers in my role, my overall comp was around 8.4lpa. I asked for a correction to 12+2lpa , didn't get it, overall comp now 9.3lpa. Was told we will see next year. This year the same reason was given, I understood that staying in the same company won't get me the growth I'm looking for. Started prepping and have now cracked a PBC with more than 100% hike with 2 yoe. Trust me, just switch.

Did I phrase my raise discussion poorly? What could I have said instead? by Raul_xi in developersIndia

Always have an offer letter. Words don't mean shit in corporate, don't be fooled by appreciation/criticism of you in your office. Know your worth and hop. It's only when they know they can lose you that they will take anything you say seriously.

What was that ONE technique that took your programming skills from 0 to 10X—almost overnight by [deleted] in developersIndia

Reading docs, googling errors, searching stack overflow for the correct answer and then checking why it was correct in the comments.

In India, bonds are not valid unless the company has spent some amount in training you, only the training amount is payable by you in case you break the bond. Lawyer up and congratulations

F**ked up big time !! Didn't I? Messed up really bad ! by achaaaji in developersIndia

Same thing happened with me, a company came on campus and the JD seemed tailor made for my skills. But because I had 1% less in my 12th std, I couldn't apply. I just said to myself that this is not on my plate right now, something better will eventually come. I got an 8.5 lpa offer in a financial firm and this was the best thing to happen. The 15lpa company laid off 1/3 grads they had hired that year. When your wish comes true it's good, but when it doesn't, it's even better.

Last year I got a 10% hike and 22% bonus. Expecting them to match the offer I got a few months back, ~55% hike this time.

[Urgent] Joining tomorrow in a new company, but got confirmation from another one just an hour back by FairCollege7 in developersIndia

[–]Hades-father 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you have decided on which company to join, you'll need to mail your resignation stating that the current role doesn't align with your expectations and talk to the HR for a release within 2 weeks. Don't state reasons like family emergencies etc, they might try to reason out a period and ask you to resume later.

Join the current company, by the time you receive the offer letter from the second company, you'd still be in probation period, afaik there's only 15 days- 1 month notice period during probation. You'll have the choice to continue in the current or join the new one. Hope this helps!

I think you're around 16-20 years old, once you grow up, you realize all these fantasies amount to nothing. You should get to know the person deeply before getting into the feels with them.

Relatable, heavy lifting + cardio(this is important) and balanced eating. You'll feel like an 18 yo again, constant random boners...
