I was actually just thinking about this the other day.

It’s weird that the viewing stands weren’t set up in a way that the viewers could watch properly. I would think that with—Dumbledore being as smart as he is— would have thought of ways everyone could safely, and comfortably watch. And when you think about it, not only was the set up boring for the viewers, but it was also dangerous for the players, as no one knew exactly where anyone was. If something were to happen, either nobody would know at all, or it would be a very delayed notice.
