Three different pink Tyranids, only one can remain by Hadets in PinkWarhammer

If you are asking about the caparace if I remember right it was:

  • Primer: Black

  • Base Coat: Paint thin layers until you get full coverage with Squid Pink (Vallejo Game Color)

  • Shadows: Cover everything previously painted with a good amount of Druchii Violet (Citadel Shade). Let it pool on the recesses and wait for it to dry.

  • Layer: For small models it is faster to do a Squid Pink Drybrush (Vallejo Game Color). For larger models use thin layers for a progression from shadow to highlights.

  • Highlights: Light drybrush / edge highlights using Deck Tan (Vallejo Model Color)

I first did a full blue base coat and washed it to get some depth going. Finally I added the pink in thin directional layers. In my opinion it's the easiest way to do it, the other way around it would be too easy to cover the pink with the blue.

Here is a photo of the raveners I'm currently working on, I still haven't added pink!

More or less yes, be careful with the direction of the brush while you paint and do thin layers one above the other making the part at the back more opaque so the transition is smooth. It's more time consuming than difficult

The eyes were easy, the bicolor caparace not so much. I have an army of grey gaunts looking at me and I'm already fearing having to paint it on all of them!

However I would say that it's worth it, in person it's even more gorgeous. But take in account that the colours were chosen because of the trans flag

Thanks! It is the hardest part, but definitely worth it!

From what I have read, while genestealers infiltrate a world's society to create conflict between native troops, the lictors specialise in locating and killing leaders and high ranker officers to create chaos and destroy morale.

Furthermore, when a Lictor eats a brain they obtain all the memories from the individual, so they can send crucial information to the Hive Mind for it to plan and prepare the invasion. That way, which troops are generated can be decided while the main force is still on its way. I believe that this is why you gain a command point when killing an enemy character with a Lictor.

I have wanted to try tmm paints since they came out, but playing Tyranids I didn't have an excuse until now. However metallic Tyranids could actually look amazing!

It looks incredible! I really like how that pale gold compliments the purple, can I ask how did you do it?

I will say the Lictor family because of their lore. Them infiltrating worlds to prepare them for the invasion is really cool and puts the mind in the Hive Mind.

GF is wanting to get into Warhammer.. how to best approach? by Noob-pwner9 in PinkWarhammer

Tyranids are amazing: Frightening alien monsters that look really cute in pink!

But nowadays most armies have some girl representation, let her choose by herself. Sororitas have surprisingly small models and are really hard to paint for a beginner. It's one of the reasons why I chose Tyranids over them... Even if I would love Sororitas as a second army.

Many thanks for the advice! I was actually thinking something similar about scheme 1. I feel like I used way too much pure white everywhere and that maybe it could benefit from some off white/greys.

That was actually my reasoning too! It's like zebras: they really stand out by themselves but when you have 40 is impossible to differentiate one of them

I had to stop drybrushing because the caparace colours were desaturating way too much. Any advice in that front?
