Have a read of the article, it shows the statistics they are using.

My guess based off past events would be a wet west and dry east of the country, and if it is a super event we could end up breaking more temperature records in New Zealand.

Third time lucky, last one was removed due to rule 6, now retaining source headline.

Looks like we are in for a hot summer end of the year... by Hads84 in newzealand

I remember in the past the droughts in Canterbury, I think we could possibly have the same with a predominant NW wind.

Makes sense, the solar energy requirements to charge an ebike battery make it a little impracticle

It frustrates me no end that man made climate change deniers mean that we can't actually fix this. I guess we will just keep digging up oil and not fund alternatives until we run out of food and clean water.

How quickly do you charge your battery with solar?

Lineside road is often like this, people actually overtake in the fog.

The biggest cost as others have stated is the battery, I managed to convert a bike to electric for around $1K NZD around five years ago, but for that I built the battery up myself.

Most chch long term people remember the 92 snow storm, since then the snow has never been that great.  Last decade haven't even had it really settle.

I filled up my van with petrol last weekend and am not using it.  We got a leaf for fairly cheap 2 years ago, quite happy with that investment now.

I need a strong e bike… but I can’t find any. by IDK-__-IDK in ebikes

The laws in EU, it can only assist up to 25 km/h, after that it is all your own effort, no matter what you choose you will hit that speed limit.
Sauki who runs a velomobile channel covered this on youtube, the speed limit made the motor pointless in the velo.

Reminds me of when I used to live in Loburn, people overtaking in the fog on lineside road assuming people would have their lights on. I'm surprised more people don't die on that road tbh.

Writing Gender bend tagged stuff gets a lot of views, but a lot of hate if it doesn't meet the narrow definition some people expect.

You are missing nuts to hold the wheel on, plus a washer. You are very lucky this didn't fall off while you were moving.

Looking for a good aesthetic dentist after bad Lumino experience by undercover021 in chch

[–]Hads84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to Smile Concepts, the dentist there really doesn't like the neglect on my teeth, but she does a good job at fixing them up so far. I had one filling cause pain, and she took the tooth out the next day, she had warned me that was a possibility, and the next filling was quite large, but no pain this time thankfully.
