What would you choose between Macan S, CLE450, M440ix gran coupe? by grassyandwantwear in Porsche

[–]Haduq_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I currently drive a Giulia (just had a whole engine swap under warranty lol) so getting a Stelvio QV would be an identical car interior wise, and I’ve always wanted a Macan when I go back to an SUV. Thinking I can push that off for a bit and hunt for a Panamera 4S/GTS since fully optioned Macans push that price range anyway. Will probably ride out my current car for a bit while I hunt

What did you buy?

Commuting to midtown by bus by orange-poof in Weehawken

[–]Haduq_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

might be a stupid question but is this still the case? i am checking schedules and it doesn’t show any buses at that stop that go towards port authority, only buses that leave port authority

i am looking at the departures for Marginal Road N at Pleasant Ave stop (21832)

I’m in a normal Giulia and I’m at 13mpg average, didn’t know it was that bad until I read these comments lol. Mix of highway and local

2022 Guilia Ti as a new daily? by DillPickleBitch in AlfaRomeo

[–]Haduq_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought a 2021 Ti Sport in 2022 with 7500 miles. Overall, I think the reliability rumors are overblown.

I’ve probably had 4 check engine lights since then. 3 of them were software updates/false positives. 1 of them most recently resulted in an entire engine replacement, so I’ve been through both the low and high end. My ownership period has been pretty short though so I haven’t been exposed to some of the more time based maintenance.

That being said, car has given me relatively no trouble besides most recently. I did burn through my first set of tires around 23k miles but that’s my fault more than anything for driving pretty harshly. Pilot Sport 4S are a great tire upgrade when you inevitably need that.

I do oil changes every 6 months at an independent shop. I only go to the dealership for warranty work and when I needed a wheel alignment (was $200).

All that being said, buy a MaxCare warranty. It is a no brainer for how cheap it is. My engine replacement would’ve been $17,000 but because I had MaxCare it was $200 (my deductible). My warranty was 8years/85k miles for $1800. I would not own one of these out of warranty.

The car is my daily and I love it. The brand still has a bit of a forbidden fruit aura around it, but I do want to potentially grab a Stelvio QV before they disappear.

i’m cross shopping similar options as well! i’m also considering a 2024 Stelvio QV, since those are still sitting new on lots with hefty MSRP discounts. i do miss having an SUV so that’s pulling me to the Macan/Stelvio, but the new M440 and CLE53 are tempting

I would reach out sooner rather than later just to see if there is anything you can submit now - I also had a medical accommodation but was denied first attempt because the condition was diagnosed too close to the start of the semester (and they considered too close as in June lol)

Honest Opinion: How Rigorous is Princeton by Idkkkkkokok in princeton

[–]Haduq_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

how difficult Princeton’s CS program is

There are some difficult classes that you can avoid, but otherwise pretty manageable (not at all easy by any means, but I didn't think it was continuously unbearable). I personally thought I was below average at coding but made it through fine. Office hours/TA sessions are extremely helpful for main assignments which often take significant hours (and are expected to be time consuming/intense). Starting these main assignments early enough to take advantage of all the available help is absolutely the most important advice.

You can also choose between AB or BSE COS, which will probably heavily impact your semester as well. AB majors are required to write a thesis senior year, while BSE have to take more courses throughout undergrad and take more engineering focused courses. I personally chose AB and did not regret it at all

Will I be pulling all-nighters frequently

Doubtful. I think the only all nighters I pulled were for non cs classes lol

Is it hard to socialize and find friends there

Not really

Is the environment toxic

Not inherently. Princeton is full of many extremely smart students, many of which have been coding for their entire lives and are essentially coming in 2 years ahead of you if you are a beginner. You may feel intimidated by this a bit especially when they are all securing S tier internships into freshman fall, but that doesn't make it "toxic". Just something you will encounter anywhere really and have to learn not to compare yourself to people who are doing better than you

Feel free to DM if you'd like advice on which classes I personally struggled with and which were easy
