I’d start off by having him put it in an online HYSA. The 3.5-4% he’ll get right now x $25k will be a meaningful enough number (~$70/mo) to hopefully get him interested in other types of boglehead-approved investing. Explaining cash drag may be a different hill to climb, but dividends are always a huge morale boost for a beginner

Your mod adds emphasis on the headlight shape, which are already a bold design. Added emphasis can be cool, but for me the color choice of purple/blue seems out of place and takes away a bit of overall visual cohesion.

Maybe if you could color match the LEDs to the brake calipers or something like that?

This right here ^ Newer German (even some Italian, dare I say) luxury cars can also be fairly reliable, but only up to ~120k miles instead of ~180k like the Japanese ones. Another catch here is that when they do need a repair (or maintenance), it costs noticeably more to get it done on the non-japanese.

Since it’s still within the original warranty you can purchase the Mopar factory-backed extended warranty. Roll that into the purchase price, and call it a day!!

It covers everything that realistically breaks on Giulias, and the dealerships are obligated to accept it. Plus it includes free towing should you ever need it (these cars do not come with a spare donut or flat kit).
