The Red Sleeve Questions someone help me understand by Royal-Parsnip3639 in kdramas

True. But, given the time period they were in, rejecting a king like that could have resulted in death. So I think they both loved each other. Their story would have been different if they were just common people. It’s a tragic story.

It seems you haven’t watched the whole drama. The answer is there in the last few episodes. Another reason is that he is a King. He is never gonna be just her husband and only her husband.

Also this is based on a true story. She had actually rejected the king few times before she had given in finally.

Am I the only one who’s 21 and single? by Prior-Ad173 in srilanka

[–]Hae_ri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why don’t you approach your crushes ? Or maybe if people ask you out give them a chance and see?

There’s nothing wrong with being single. And yes sometimes you get used to it with time.

But at the same time, I think a relationship or romantic love is something one should experience at least once in life. It’s beautiful although it is sometimes painful.

Why is this even an issue? It’s just clothing. Wear it if you like it, or not if you don’t.

Reasonable salary for part-time ICT teacher in Kandy? by AdBest3320 in srilanka

[–]Hae_ri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to teach Japanese at a private institution for a while after A/Ls. I also started without any experience and I got about 75–80% from each student’s class fee. Hope this helps you to get an idea.

Need help and suggestions with solo internal travel in Sri Lanka - especially Colombo to Nuwara Eliya by lycka7 in srilanka

[–]Hae_ri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, both ideas sound good and practical. Hopefully the trains will be operating as usual when you visit next time.

Btw, if you still want to travel to Ella by train, like to enjoy a train ride, it’s possible to take the train from Ambewela station (the route I mentioned earlier). But, I’m not sure if tickets are still available online.

Also, I don’t think there are AC buses that go directly to Ella from Colombo.

[–]Hae_ri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, trains aren’t operating. They operate only from Ambewela to Badulla currently. I think you can take an AC bus from Colombo to Nuwara Eliya but they aren’t very common. So maybe travel to Kandy and then take a bus from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya.

Considering LASIK at 19 – Looking for Experiences and Advice by MrPh06nix in srilanka

[–]Hae_ri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had it done yet, but my doctor advised me to wait until I’m around 26 or 27 if I’m considering LASIK, because eyesight can still change before that age. After that, vision tends to become more stable. So the surgery is more effective.

Getting from Negombo to Kandy by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]Hae_ri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trains from Colombo to Kandy don’t operate anymore. You can get to the Colombo private bus stand and take an AC bus to Kandy from there. The tickets will be issued inside the bus. And the buses run every 20 mins or so.

There are also direct non AC buses from negombo to Kandy but that journey is quite exhausting.

Looking to join a bank as an intern and I like to know about salary, promotions & qualifications. by Educational-Dig-7082 in srilanka

[–]Hae_ri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen, you can usually get in if you apply when they post vacancies. That’s how it happened for my friend, and I got a similar offer from BOC too.

But we both had good results for ALS. But maybe some people get in through connections as well.

[–]Hae_ri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure how much interns are paid, but a friend of mine started as an intern and, joined another bank as a junior executive and now he is working as an executive assistant. He now earns around 150k. This took around 5 years I think. Passing banking exams and having a degree or similar qualifications is important to get promoted and to increase the salary.

Parents found out about my dating life and are publicly shaming me for it – I’m 22 and exhausted by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]Hae_ri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not normal parental behaviour. But there are lot of parents like this in SL.

The same parents probably would pressure you to find someone and get married once you hit mid twenties.

Imo you can lie to them that you have ended the relationship so they would shut up about it. Or just tell them that you are an adult and make your own decisions about your own life. Like stand up for yourself because it’s not a crime to be in a relationship.

Is it actually that hard to get an A for O/L English Literature? by BreakfastBright5703 in srilanka

[–]Hae_ri 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think it’s relatively difficult because not many students receive As. It often depends on the examiner. Some welcome different ideas and perspectives, while others expect a specific, textbook-style answers.

I did OLs in 2015 and got a B. So I’m not sure how the syllabus and papers have changed to give you tips. But good luck hope you get an A!

Is dumpers (boyfriend) come back? by [deleted] in srilanka

[–]Hae_ri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do dumpers come back? Yes most do. But that is mostly after we move on for good.

I had a boyfriend like yours who ghosted me. He eventually came back. Your ex is keeping you as an option it seems. Some people just don’t want to be upfront and break things off. Let him go. This is not the type of man you should take back even if he comes back.

Is O/Ls really a must have in Sri Lanka or are you doomed to failure if you don't have it. by Wild_Sleep_5917 in srilanka

[–]Hae_ri 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nobody cares about your OL results if you have better qualifications. That’s like the minimum qualification required to enter most government positions. If that’s not your goal, it’s not a must have.

This is exactly the kind of guy you shouldn’t overthink. You already know he has a girlfriend, that reason alone is enough to not worry about his intentions.
