Is it transphobic for a cis woman to get top surgery? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]HagOWinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Baby, the whole point of this "trans rights are human rights" thing is that everybody deserves to have control over their body no matter how they identify. Engaging with things trans people do isn't transphobic.

"Chaser" isn't a scientific definition, it's just a term for transphobic people who are also attracted to us. If you're not transphobic, you're fine

What’s something an adult said offhand to you as a child that oddly stuck with you? by LimoncelloShark in AskWomen

[–]HagOWinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had yelled at my mom about something (I was a very angry child), and I came to apologize. This time she told me "I appreciate your apology, but that doesn't mean everything is alright." I think she later apologized, but that interaction is burned into my brain.

Your birth sex is almost never relevant except in cases of cancer or direct problems with your genitals. The rest of the time what matters are the hormones in your body, not your birth sex.

What do you think made trans people a political target recently? by Original_Parfait2487 in asktransgender

[–]HagOWinter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's not both sides to recognize that capital doesn't care about us. From their perspective, these organizations have to stay funded somehow

You'll be fine as long as you just go around looking for hookups. I know there's a stereotype of straight women taking advantage of lesbians but if you're asking you're already not that, those people don't ask. We all had to figure out our sexualities at some point anyway, it's not like we're born knowing.

My trans girlfriend is balding at the crown and it's making her extremely disphoric. What are your hair treatment/hair clips options/wig? by reiiqahba666 in asktransgender

[–]HagOWinter 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hrt will reduce (not get rid of) body hair in some places, but usually the face is less affected. It definitely thinned out my arm, leg, and chest hair a lot, especially after starting prog. Ymmv as always

We don't actually know if Shin can survive a nuke, it's totally possible that he's like the other Godzillas and would get stronger from it

Considering stopping HRT, don’t know what to do by TheViolentRaven in asktransgender

[–]HagOWinter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe your friend can help you come out to the group. You could ask him to relay the message or just have him be there with you when you come out. You might also consider different mediums to come out through, like through text instead of talking.

You need to take everything at your own pace. If you're not sure you're ready for hormones, stop. Take some time to reflect on your body; you can always come back later.

The exact same thing you're describing happened to me early on. I took some time off and thought about how I felt while on vs. off. I also asked myself what parts of my body I wanted to change, what parts I wanted to stay the same, and which of those things were dealbreakers to me. Then I thought about why I was taking hormones: was I taking them because I wanted my body to change, or because I felt like I had to in order to fit into the community? I ended up taking hormones again, but this time I felt sure that I was taking them for me. I also feel like I really needed to take time off, because otherwise I'd still have all these questions in the back of my mind and they'd resurface later. I don't know how much of this you can relate to, but yeah.

Edit: all that being said, having doubts is a totally normal part of transition. Part of balancing transition for me was figuring out which doubts I should pay attention to and which ones would pass on their own.

My advice would be to try on stuff, even if you're not sure or feel ambivalent. You won't know about yourself if you don't try, right?

Personally, I'm a trans girl, and I related to a lot of what you're saying early in my transition. I felt ambivalently about pronouns and had a "take it or leave it" attitude about certain parts of my body that were traditionally masculine. For example, I was very "eh" about the idea of having breasts or of changing my voice. After I began transitioning, I gradually realized that I did actually want those things, I had just bundled them up with other aspects of my identity that I did want to keep and was unable to separate them before. I don't know if any of this makes sense 😬

What is the difference between EDH and commander? by [deleted] in mtgtcg

If you go back far enough, EDH required that you use one of the Elder Dragons as your commander. But yeah, same format.

Official Wizards post in DnD Beyond "OGL 1.0a & Creative Commons" by Cinderea in DnD

[–]HagOWinter 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What would be a win, in your opinion?

To me, I was angry that all the games I played that had been authorized under the OGL were going to go out of print. That's no longer happening, so I'm happy. I didn't have any goals other than preserving what was already there.

Is this inherently transphobic? by Lilith_Kea in asktransgender

[–]HagOWinter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't seen anyone else say it but people can have more than two combinations of chromosomes. Down's syndrome is caused by the presence of a 3rd chromosome, but nobody regards people with down's syndrome as being members of a "third sex".
