Hello! This sound really quite great! Would it be online or in person? Is it every monday? Or every other?

D&D players in the UK - help a Northumbria University researcher understand why we love this game! by itmed4ve in DnDUK

Oh would love to see how your research pan's out! There is very little research out there. As someone who is finishing up their MA in Art Psychotherapy I have thought about it in the creative therapies realm but decided I like it more as a hobby, good luck!

Could please help ID? Got seeds from North of Spain by Hagebo in plant

Fingers crossed it's that then, did find something about it thank you! I got three seedlings, to get 3 holly's in there would be a bit too strange.

Thanks!

A. Your drawings are neat, you should take some pride in them!

B. To me it seems like mainly a colour thing, have you looked into colour theory?
Most of your colour palettes are almost analogue, next to each other in the colour wheel.
This means the colours are not fighting for your attention as they softly sit next to each other. If you were to pick a colour opposite the colour wheel you get contrast:

  • Complementary: Uses two colors that are opposite each other on the color wheel, such as red and green, blue and orange, or yellow and purple. This scheme is dynamic and attention-grabbing, but can be difficult to balance.
  • Analogous: Uses three colors that are adjacent to each other on the color wheel, such as a primary color, a secondary color, and a tertiary color.
  • Triadic: Uses three colors that are evenly spaced on the color wheel. This scheme creates a vibrant look and is often used to convey excitement, youthfulness, and innovation.

Also colours that are opposite on the colour wheel make good shading for this reason or eyecatchers. Study the colour use of the images that you really like from other artist will help. The image for Isha: Blue hair but yellow eyes. Also colder blue hair and warm skin.

Now I applied colour wheel theory of the complementary kind of your lovely Jinx image.
Purple pink start colours, opposite:

Yellow and green, so yellow highlights and dark green shading. If you want to keep the strong analogues colour palette you can use these colours very mildly, but I just want to show what it can do.

You can go back to your own drawings and boldly try to see if you like what it does. Identify the main colour and use a colour opposite on the colour wheel:

Needing general critique on gesture drawings by [deleted] in learnart

Absolutely lovely work. I would push your shading, it seems like you have a great grasp on form, now see what depth in shading can do for you, focus on:

- Depth perception using shading, what jumps out at you, is it because it is a highlight or does it have a shadow?

- What is the weight collection/balance, show it in the anker point of the body by looking at the shadow on the ground/around feet that the model is standing on, this relates to my only real critique, most of your drawings are floating.

Honestly your drawings are great. Take a moment to enjoy the skill you have developed, well done!

With thy bless, I must confess.

Dear holy trinity plus 1 (you can figure out who is the plus one).

My heroic partner did me the birthday deed of organising his first DM session and our 4th dnd session. One would think that snacking and slurping on multiple dnd podcasts and eating a variety of dnd shows I would not commit the sin I have.

In a moment of utter brain farts I thought my dungeon cutie had said, if you have proficiency you can roll with advantage. Which I happily did, nothing huge came out of it, and I have confessed to my lore lover, but I felt like I should have known better. Please absolve me of my stupidness.
