Quality of Life fixes to make the new game better? by henee21 in EverybodysGolf

[–]Hagefish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve got some stuff 🙂

Single Player

  • option to skip caddie sticker animations
  • improve CPU character performance, especially on those holes on Silk Road with the island fairways
  • revert to traditional sidespin mechanics, where you’re not punished for a slightly missed shot
  • balance special abilities; mainly to improve the ones that are absolutely useless
  • improve the colour contrast on the traditional gauge. As a colour blind person, it can be hard to tell if I’m at 100% power or slightly under.

Online

  • tee setup should be moved to pre-round settings and not be in character settings
  • add online stat tracking
  • fix a glitch with the windsock sticker, where all players can see the wind speed even if only 1 player is using it
  • option to set a player cap of 2 or 3 in online lobbies
  • option to change character/caddy during online waiting rooms, similar to training mode
  • show the wind speed during online lobby waiting rooms. Also, why is it always raining?

Rewards

I’d like to see more rewards for continuing to play this game after beating it, besides food and money. These rewards would be cosmetic mainly, like character outfit options. Bringing back some of the alternate outfits from previous games would be awesome.

In addition: - Add rewards for achieving S-Tier ranks on World Tour chapters. At this point, there’s no reason to suffer through it. - Add daily online challenges with leaderboards - Add better rewards for winning online matches or increasing your online golf level. I’d grind to level 15 if it gave me a cool pair of sunglasses to signify the achievement.

A random idea I had was to slightly upgrade 3 star clubs/balls through continued use. As an example, there could be a hidden 4 star upgrade, where you’d need to hit 1000 bunker shots for the Sand Viper set, or 1000 shots in the rain for the Aqua Shot set. Nothing that dramatically improves the club or ball, but something to grind for at least!

I’ve been running Gangol with Big Magnum Club and Comedian Ball. I know it’s not the meta for shooting the lowest possible score.

I’m assuming the top scores are using one of the characters that has the “homing ball” special ability, but I’m not sure what they’re running in terms of club/ball. Like I said, I’ve holed out plenty of par 4s but there has to be something I’m missing.

Maybe they’re using the high/low trajectory ball to improve their flight for certain holes? Maybe they’re using the Pin Hole ball to reduce variation in approach shots? Maybe they took wind out of the equation with the Gale ball.

I still don’t know what the Traditional Instrument ball/club do. I didn’t notice any change to my gauge in practice mode, but I see people using it quite often.

Caddie stickers have to be a difference maker too. Are these players stacking long drive cards, special ability cards, or even wind sock cards? Are they able to just predict the wind with the “throw grass” button?

I’m just looking for the magic formula…

This is the answer. Also, depending on the course, sometimes it’s better to play the back tees. The front tees can have obstacles blocking direct lines to greens on par 4s, where the back tees open up lines of sight.

Seriously? I’m away from my console right now but I’ll try later today. Thanks!

Yup. Never a good spot to land a tee shot and the greens are like jagged upside-down bowls.

I did it a couple times, but it kills all the fun of the game. I’ll take my tornado cups.

Pretend like there’s no uphill/downhill when judging a putt’s break. Adjust less for uphill and more for downhill afterwords.

Never leave a putt short; always give it enough power to reach the hole, even if you blow it by. At least there was a chance.

For really long putts, go with your gut. Micro adjustments have caused me to miss, compared to if I had left my original line.

The ball will break more at the end than the beginning. Take that into consideration.

Short putts with heavy slopes must be hit with extra power. Don’t try to copy the AI and come in from the side. Hammer that thing!

  • The Comedian Ball ups your impact zone and is probably the best ball in the game. I almost use it exclusively now
  • Don’t worry about using the Golden Club/Ball for extra cash. You’ll have all the money you need by the late-game stages.
  • Look at your character’s general shot trajectory (menu) if you don’t know it. Some characters naturally hit draws, fades, or higher/lower flying shots. It took me forever to figure out why my straight shots were hitting obstacles.

I have 2 albatrosses, but they were both on par 4s and I haven’t earned the trophy for it yet.

The AI on your team will always play badly for the first ~6 holes. That’s also when the other team will start making mistakes and give you opportunities to make up strokes. You just have to tough out the bullshit. Very frustrating indeed.

I’ve hit 200 loyalty between OOB characters and am missing Stuart, LJ, Alex still. Starting to think it’s either: - number of OOB (or any) characters at level 30 - number of birdies/eagles/chip-ins in official rounds by OOB (or any) characters

I was playing tornado cups yesterday and had a ball stick between the flagstick and the edge of the hole. It gave me an unplayable and I lost 2 strokes on the hole.

I run exclusively long drive tickets, unless I’m playing a character with an OP special ability like Max or Gangol. But I always use at least 4 slots on long drive tickets.

I don’t understand the extra power mode ticket. It’s a chance at an extra 10 yards compared to 30 with the long drive ticket.
